About the job

At Bocenter Tranbjerg we believe that people develop when they meet with respect, clarity and professional expertise. We are now looking for two full-time social educators for Hus 2 and Hus 4 respectively.

We are looking for colleagues who are present in relationships, curious about people and focused on translating professional knowledge into a good everyday life for the citizens. In return, you will get a workplace with high professional ambitions, a strong collegial culture and the opportunity to influence the development of a bocenter where we work from the principle that we are on the team together.

About Bocenter Tranbjerg

Bocenter Tranbjerg is a round-the-clock service aimed at adults with intellectual disabilities, with varying support needs. The citizens are distributed in 4 houses, which are target-group oriented and the support is adapted so that the individual can master their own life in as many aspects as possible. There is a service group attached, where kitchen staff, house assistants, a cross-functional duty scheduler and a cross-functional health coordinator are employed.

There are two leaders attached, and together with the staff we work to create one Bocenter Tranbjerg, where we are on the team together and proud of the effort we provide for and with the citizens.

Description of Hus 2

Hus 2 is a residential facility for 6 adults with intellectual disabilities under the Danish Social Services Act, §108. The target group is citizens aged 27-65 years with an intellectual age from about 3 months to 4 years. The primary task is to create a structured and recognizable everyday life, where the citizen lives a safe and good life. All citizens have a large need for support and due to their physical functional level, care tasks in the form of help with hygiene, eating, etc., are a large part of the core task. It is a house with many smiles, moments of joy and zest for life.

The task requires staff who can combine relational work, health-related tasks and clear structure with a focus on each citizen's well-being, communication and quality of life.

During the day, Monday to Friday, the citizens participate in activity offers at Bøgeskovgård Activity Center, where social interaction enriches life. Tired and happy, the citizens return to Hus 2 in the afternoon, where there is again a need for rest and recognizability in their own home. The citizens have their own apartment and are mostly at home all evenings and most weekend days.

There are three staff on duty during the waking hours and a wake night shift.

Description of Hus 4

Hus 4 is a service for four adults with developmental disabilities with a high to very high support needs under the Social Services Act, §108.

The target group is younger citizens. Common to them is that in difficult situations they may have trouble displaying appropriate behavior. The task is to support the citizens in succeeding in these situations through structure, recognizability and a low arousal approach. Hus 4 is characterized by high activity, many relational situations and complex pedagogical tasks. Therefore, the staff work with a highly specialized autism pedagogical approach, where structure, predictability and low arousal are central professional tools.

In Hus 4, three out of four citizens have day care at home and only one participates in external day care.

The citizens have their own apartments and are almost always at home.

There are 4 on duty during the waking hours and a wake night shift.

Do you want to join our team?

At Bocenter Tranbjerg we are in the process of building a strong shared professional culture. We believe that high quality for the citizens is created through collaboration, professional curiosity and a shared responsibility for the core task.

We work based on Aarhus Municipality's Common Purposes, where the citizen's hopes, dreams and possibilities for life mastery are the driving force. With us, professionalism is not something that belongs to an individual employee. Professionalism is something we develop together through reflection, knowledge sharing, feedback and the courage to be exploratory about our own practice.

We have a strong professional focus on ethics, life mastery and the dialectical understanding of disability. This means that we meet the citizens as people with resources, hopes and dreams, and that we see development as something that arises in the interaction between the person and the surroundings.

We believe that people who can behave appropriately do so. The task for all employees at Bocenter Tranbjerg is to support, guide and direct the citizens in interaction with others so they experience success, mastery and participation as much as possible. It is also the task to help citizens when it does not succeed.

Specifically, we work with KRAP, low arousal, structure, supportive approaches to communication and close collaboration with relatives and other partners. We believe that reflection, knowledge sharing and systematic documentation are prerequisites for high quality in the effort.

We are therefore seeking colleagues who can bring their own professionalism into play and actively contribute to the community. You should want to join a multidisciplinary environment where we help each other, bring out the best in each other and always keep focus on what adds value for the citizens.

At Bocenter Tranbjerg you are not hired for a single house. You become part of the entire Bocenter Tranbjerg, where we are all on the team together.
