About the job
School Center
Ådalskolen seeks two community-oriented, engaged and academically strong special school teachers who will help show that potential exists in all children?
One position is in our 1st grade, where the teacher who has held the role since the summer holidays will take on other tasks at the school from 1/12-26. The other position will replace the teacher in our 4th grade, as the teacher goes on maternity leave from 1/1-27.
We are a special school for students with profound physical and mental disabilities, including communication difficulties, autism, developmental disorders, developmental delay as well as diagnoses and syndromes to varying degrees. With us you become part of an interdisciplinary environment where we place a high value on well-being, high professional standards and the individual child's unique potential.
You will become part of a very special community. A community that you can feel when you walk through the doors of our school. We can say it as it is: we are a special provision with an important agenda. We know that development requires trust, and we make an effort to deserve it. Students and parents should be able to count on us, so we say what we mean – and do what we say.
Ådalskolen and STU Ringsted are a dynamic and flexible workplace with about 92 children at the school and 15 young people in our STU. We are about 94 dedicated and good colleagues, all focused on a good working environment. We work in self-organizing teams, where, across management and teams, we collaborate and support each other in daily life. In addition, we offer a school with a unique location in nicely furnished premises with fantastic outdoor areas and good transport options. You can read more about Ådalskolen and STU Ringsted on the school’s website www.aadalskolen.dk
Your primary duties
- Work with a student group of 5-6 pupils (1st grade or 4th grade), where the diversity is large and includes students with multiple physical and mental disabilities, autism and developmental delay, nonverbal communication, etc. The students’ support needs are therefore also very different and may include personal care.

- Use movement in the students’ daily life and outdoor teaching, which are natural and important parts of the students’ learning. The school is located in a nature-rich area with many opportunities for experiences and learning.
- Participate in an interdisciplinary team collaboration with pedagogues, pedagogical assistants and helpers, where it is you as the teacher who creates the structure and leads, but also in a team where everyone is an important contributor and close partner in the work around the children, and we place high value on close collaboration between all professional groups.
