Head of Education for Niels Brock's Handelsgymnasium JTP

About the position

As an educational leader you will work closely with the principal and vice principal. The position is split between leadership tasks, teaching and other pedagogical duties.

You will be responsible for the operation, development and quality assurance of the gymnasium, and you actively contribute to creating a school culture where well-being, academic achievement and collaboration are in focus.

In addition, you will work closely with the pedagogical subject coordinators (PFK) and the subject leads to ensure a clear pedagogical direction at the gymnasium.

About you

You are keen to take responsibility for staff management and to create a working environment where well-being and professional development go hand in hand. It is advantageous if you have experience with staff management, development of pedagogical initiatives and running projects. You should focus on students’ learning, well-being and formation and be passionate about further developing and quality assuring the teaching environment.

As a leader you will

• Be present and create frameworks for well-being and collaboration
• Support employees’ professional and personal development
• Lead with empathy, clarity and commitment
• Contribute to translating strategic goals into practice
• Be part of a leadership team where sparring and development are in focus
• Be able to spar with subject group leads and team coordinators.
• Have experience working with and engaging in dialogue with young people

As a teacher you will

• Have completed pedagogical studies and have teaching experience at upper secondary level
• Be a role model for students and contribute to an inspiring learning environment.

It is advantageous if you have insight into the framework requirements characteristic of a youth education – and ideally from the commercial sector.

Terms of employment

The position is full-time with employment from 1 December 2026 or as soon as possible. Employment is in accordance with the circular on the agreement for the appointment of managers at institutions within teaching and education under the Ministry of Education. The position has a technical placement in pay grade 35, and there will be room for negotiation of allowances.

About Handelsgymnasiet JTP

Handelsgymnasiet JTP is Niels Brock’s oldest gymnasium. We are the classic commercial gymnasium with roots in proud traditions and a focus on the future. We have approximately 1,000 students spread across 12 tracks per year group.

At Handelsgymnasiet JTP we have 75 engaged and skilled teachers who, together with you, will further develop our gymnasium. We want our students to receive a future-proof education and work purposefully with students’ learning, well-being and formation.

At Niels Brock employees have the option of child education, which entails a 10% reduction in working time per child up to 3 years, without pay reduction.
