Holstebro Youth School is looking for an engaged, teacher-trained instructor for a permanent full-time position in our lower secondary. The position is to be filled by 1 November 2026 or as soon as possible .

We do not require specific subject combinations - the most important thing for us is who you are as a person and as a professional, and how you meet and collaborate with young people.

It is an advantage if you have competencies in one or more of the following areas

• experience with the target group and solid pedagogical experience corresponding to this
• practical subjects and workshop activities
• practice-oriented and applied teaching
• relationship work and work with young people's wellbeing and participation

Your professional profile is important, but your pedagogical approach, relational competence and desire to develop practice together with your colleagues and management weigh the highest.

About our students

In the lower secondary you will meet wonderful young people with very different backgrounds, strengths and support needs.

Students may, among other things, have diagnoses, school absenteeism, social or emotional challenges, and previous experiences of not succeeding in school.

What they share is that they need adults who are clear, persistent and curious, and who can see opportunities rather than limitations.

We work to ensure that students feel like valuable participants in academic and social communities. Therefore we plan the teaching flexibly, practice-oriented and with a view to each individual student’s opportunity to contribute and succeed.

Our pedagogical direction

At Holstebro Youth School we work to create good conditions for participation and courage to develop, so that more children and young people have the opportunity to succeed in community.

We are in the process of developing from a special institution to a more inclusive, community-building school. This means we focus on

• creating opportunities for participation in meaningful communities
• student perspectives and real student involvement
• practice-oriented, varied and application-oriented teaching
• co-teaching and shared responsibility for teaching
• the connection between school, leisure, and the surrounding community

The participation-responsible teams are the school's fundamental organizing principle. The team has joint responsibility for students' participation, wellbeing, learning and development and works systematically with planning, implementation, evaluation and adjustment of the teaching.

Salary and employment conditions

The position is a fixed full-time position and employment takes place according to the applicable collective agreement and the principles of local salary formation. You are employed as a teacher under the agreement with the Education Union.
