About the job

Are you passionate about natural resource management, and would you like to help educate the future forest and landscape engineers?

At Skovskolen Djursland we experience high demand for our four-year professional bachelor's program, and we therefore seek an engaged lecturer who wants to bring their professional knowledge and practical experience into play for our students.

You will have a fixed workplace at Djursland, and your teaching will mainly be linked to the forest and landscape engineering program within natural resource management. Depending on your competences and interests there will also be good opportunities to teach in other subjects as well as in Skovskolen's other programs.

About the teaching

We expect you to take responsibility for the course Natural Resource Management and Society , where the students work with complex problems at the intersection between nature, people and land use.

The course should equip the students to plan and communicate natural resource management projects, work with multifunctional land use and stakeholder management, and create a qualified decision basis for future natural resource management.

If you have experience in other relevant areas, there are good opportunities to also contribute to other courses. It could, for example, be sustainability, GIS, data processing or other disciplines that support the program's profile.

The teaching is closely linked to practice and there are therefore almost weekly field trips, where the students connect the learned theory to reality by visiting nature projects, companies or conducting field exercises.

We are looking for you who

  • have a relevant educational background, e.g. as a forest and landscape engineer, biologist, nature manager, forest science graduate or similar
  • have solid subject knowledge and preferably practical experience with natural resource management
  • have a good professional network and interest in development within the field
  • are keen to teach and inspire students
  • can plan and implement teaching, excursions and field exercises independently

Teaching experience is an advantage but not a requirement. The most important is that you want to convey your knowledge and contribute to the students' academic development.

Place of work

The position is affiliated with Skovskolen Djursland in Auning. Skovskolen also has a department in Nødebo and is part of the Department of Geoscience and Natural Resource Management at the Faculty of Science at the University of Copenhagen.

Across the two locations we are about 75 employees who work with education, continuing education, development projects and advisory services within forest, nature, landscape, outdoor life and communication.

You will become part of an informal and engaged professional environment with good opportunities for sparring with colleagues both in Djursland and in Nødebo. We prioritize collaboration, professional development and freedom with responsibility.

And then there are the surroundings. With its location by the Løvenholm forests in Djursland, Skovskolen is, in our opinion, one of Denmark's most beautifully situated workplaces, where nature is part of everyday life

Expected duties

  • Course leadership for the course Natural Resource Management and Society https://kurser.ku.dk/course/lsls10057u/2026-2027
  • Teaching and guidance on other courses at Skovskolen, depending on competences and interests
