Awake night guard with responsibility for cleaning and practical tasks at the Children and Youth Center Vejle Fjord

Are you caring, responsible and naturally calm, and do you thrive with night work where you also perform light cleaning tasks and other practical duties? Then you are needed as an awake night guard at the Children and Youth Center Vejle Fjord.

About the job

You will be part of a fixed rotation every other week. The working hours are 23:00–09:00 from Sunday to Thursday, as well as every fourth weekend Friday and Saturday 22:00–07:00. In addition, there are joint meetings and internal courses.

The target group at the Children and Youth Center Vejle Fjord is children and young people aged 4–17 years with various social, emotional and developmental challenges. This can include attachment disorders, early neglect, anxiety, ADHD or outwardly reactive behavior. Many of the children and youths also experience sleep disturbances as part of their overall distress.

As an awake night guard you report in when the children have gone to bed. Your main task is to contribute to a safe, stable and calm night by supporting the children and youths who wake during the night. You help to ensure that everyone has the best possible conditions for a good night’s sleep, and you ensure that there is calm and safety in the department. If needed, you summon the sleeping night guard to provide the necessary support and security for both children and staff.

The position also includes a number of practical tasks that contribute to a clean, proper and homely environment. The tasks include, among others, tidying up, light cleaning, clearing away in kitchens, laundry and other routine tasks. You help ensure that the department presents itself inviting, well-maintained and ready for a new day.

Towards the end of the shift you help create a good start to the day by preparing breakfast and ensuring that the house is ready to welcome children and youths in calm and cozy surroundings.

About us

The Children and Youth Center Vejle Fjord is an autonomous social-pedagogical children's and youth home for children and youths aged 4–17 years with socio-emotional difficulties or brain-organic dysfunctions.

At the Children and Youth Center Vejle Fjord there are seven 24-hour departments in Bredballe and Brejning with space for 37 children and youths, an internal school, Solvejskolen, with space for 42 students, and a Community House, which offers supported or supervised contact between placed children and youths and their parents. The Children and Youth Center Vejle Fjord also offers outpatient family treatment at home.

The Children and Youth Center Vejle Fjord is part of KFUM Socialt Arbejde and has a service agreement with Vejle Municipality.

Employment terms

Salary and terms follow the collective agreement with SL.

Start date as soon as possible, but no later than December 1.

The position is 32 hours per week as an awake night guard.
