About the job

Do you want to help shape direction, coherence, and high pedagogical quality in a day-care that focuses on presence, relationships, and strong learning environments?

Bryghuset and Hobbitten are seeking an engaged and present deputy head, who together with the day-care manager and the department head is eager and brave to lead the continued development of our day-care.

We are looking for you who are passionate about children's well-being and development, and who both see the pedagogical quality and want to be close to children, staff, and parents in daily life. You should be able to create alignment, support staff's professional development, and contribute to a clear shared direction for our pedagogical work.

As deputy head you will have an important role in linking leadership and practice. You must be able to take responsibility, create an overview, and actively contribute to turning our shared ambitions into a safe, developing, and meaningful everyday life for children and adults. You will have a particular responsibility for our initiative, “Facilitating Relationships,” which is about strengthening relationship work.

About us

Bryghuset and Hobbitten is an integrated day-care offering where we work closely across the two houses to create A Shared We – for the benefit of children, parents, and staff.

In Bryghuset-Hobbitten we are in the process of building the houses with an ambition to create strong relationships, good daily rhythms, and physical learning environments that support children's play, development and well-being.

We have a special focus on further developing our physical learning environments and strengthening relationship work between children and adults. We work, among other things, with Marte Meo as an pedagogical approach, and we see it as an important task to create good moments of meeting between children and adults throughout the day.

We want to be a day-care offering where we are curious about our practice, share our professionalism and together find the best solutions for the children. Here, leadership plays a central role in creating direction, supporting staff, and ensuring coherence across the houses.

The position

As deputy head you will be part of the management team at Bryghuset and Hobbitten, where you work closely with the day-care manager and the department head. Together you have the responsibility to create direction, coherence, and good conditions for the pedagogical practice.

You will have a central role in daily leadership and in supporting the ongoing development of our pedagogical work. We place emphasis on your ability to see the big picture while staying close to everyday life, where relationships, professionalism, and small decisions make a big difference.

As deputy head you are expected to be able to take responsibility for overall leadership when the day-care manager is absent. This includes, among other things, taking on the overall management responsibility during the day-care manager's absence, including during holiday periods, and ensuring continuity, clarity, and coherence in daily operations and leadership.

You should, among other things, contribute to

  • support and translate the shared pedagogical direction into practice across Bryghuset and Hobbitten
  • be close to the staff and create frameworks for professional reflection, pedagogical development, and job satisfaction
  • help strengthen relationship work between children and adults and support work with Marte Meo
  • further develop the physical learning environments so they support children's play, well-being, development, and opportunities for deep engagement
  • support daily operations and help ensure that resources and competences are used in the best possible way across campuses
  • take responsibility for leadership tasks and ensure clear and coherent leadership when the day-care manager is absent
  • actively participate in a leadership team where we spar with each other, share responsibility, and lift collectively.

We are looking for someone who

  • is educated as a pedagogue and already has leadership experience
  • can create coherence between pedagogical development, staff leadership, and daily operations
  • has a strong professional view of children's needs, well-being, and development
  • is present, clear, and acknowledging in communication and leadership
  • can create followership and motivate staff around a common pedagogical direction
  • can take responsibility, maintain overview, and make decisions, even when everyday life demands it
  • has knowledge of Marte Meo and wants to run processes with staff across campuses
  • is eager to join a trusting leadership team where we help one another, share responsibility, and work from a common direction.

You will get

  • a workplace where children are at the center, and where presence, relationships, and pedagogical quality are highly valued
  • an opportunity to influence the development of Bryghuset and Hobbitten and to translate shared ambitions into practice
  • a central role in daily leadership and in the development of our pedagogical work, particularly regarding the initiative “Facilitating Relationships.”
  • close collaboration with the day-care manager and the department head, including a leadership team with room for sparring, ideas, professional development, and shared responsibility
  • a daily life where you have the opportunity to be close to practice and take responsibility for the overall leadership.

The position is 37 hours per week with start on December 1 or as soon as possible thereafter. If you would like a tour, please call or write to the day-care manager: Tina Argueta Andersen, tel.: 26 98 17 40 Application deadline, Friday 30 October 2026.
