Do you thrive with responsibility for planning menus, shopping, preparation of meals and ensuring food safety, self-control and follow-up on the Danish Food Authority's requirements? About the workplace

Værestedet Klub Syd is an activity and social offering under the Social Services Act § 79 and part of Bo & Aktivitet in Aabenraa Municipality. The offering is aimed at adults with permanent reduced physical and mental function who need support to participate in social communities.

Værestedet Klub Syd offers creative activities, musical events, game evenings, theme days and social interaction. At the same time the offering acts as an important environment change, where citizens can create and maintain relations, develop social skills and experience community with others.

You will become part of a small team consisting of a social worker and you as a nutritionist, plus 3 employees employed in a skånejob. Together we create a safe, active and development-oriented environment for both citizens and employees.

About the job

As an employee at Værestedet Klub Syd you will have a central role in creating the framework for good meals, communities and meaningful participation.

An essential part of the position is linked to the daily operations of Café Møllemærsk, where you are responsible for planning, purchasing, menu planning and preparation of meals for Værestedet users. You ensure that the kitchen functions as an inviting and well-functioning gathering point, and that applicable guidelines for food hygiene, self-control and food safety are followed.

The kitchen is also an important arena for community, learning and participation. You must therefore be able to involve and guide employees employed in skånejob and special employment schemes in the kitchen's daily tasks, so they experience mastery, development and meaningful participation in the work community.

In addition to kitchen tasks, you contribute to the rest of the center's activities and communities. You create relationships with the citizens, support their participation and help develop and implement activities, events and community-building initiatives. Together with colleagues you work to create an inclusive environment where citizens experience well-being, sense of belonging and the opportunity to bring their own resources into play.

Your tasks

Your main tasks consist of

• planning, preparing and plating daily meals for Værestedet users
• handling stock ordering, purchasing and menu planning
• ensuring self-control and compliance with applicable rules within food hygiene
• planning, implementing and evaluating activities in Klub Syd in collaboration with a colleague
• guiding and supporting employees in skånejob and special job schemes
• supporting citizens' participation in communities, development and well-being.

About you

We expect that you

• are educated as a nutritionist or have another relevant nutrition-related education
• have a desire to work at the intersection of pedagogy, communities and café operations
• can plan, prepare and plate meals as well as handle purchasing and menu planning
• have knowledge of food hygiene and self-control
• have experience with or interest in people with physical and mental disabilities
• can create trusting relationships and work in an appreciative, respectful and resource-empowering manner
• can motivate, guide and support citizens and employees in developing their skills and independence
• can work independently, create structure in daily life and contribute actively to team cooperation.

It is also an advantage if you

• have experience with cafe, kitchen or canteen operations
• have experience with food hygiene and self-control
• have knowledge of activity and social offerings under § 79 of the Social Services Act
• have interest in guiding citizens in skånejob or similar employment offers
• have an interest in creating activities and communities for adult citizens with reduced function

Salary and employment terms

The workplace is Værestedet Klub Syd, Bo & Aktivitet, Aabenraa Municipality. The position is, in principle, 37 hours per week. At the applicant's initiative there can be concrete dialogue about working time arrangements. Work is between 12-21, every 3rd weekend, and public holiday work. Start on 1 December 2026. Salary and employment terms according to applicable collective agreement. A criminal background check will be obtained on hire and employment is conditional on satisfactory background check.
