About the job
Things are going well in Viborg Municipality, and we therefore have plenty of plans and development projects in the works. There is a steady stream of plans in progress, and we are therefore seeking two skilled town planners who can start as soon as possible.
Among the larger tasks we are currently working on, the following can be mentioned: Theme supplement for architecture, state-owned industrial park, the new Taphede district with 1500 homes, project local plans in Viborg Baneby, conversion of the former business college in Viborg, conversion of the Stoholm School site, several densification projects, a master plan for AU Viborg, and more.
About us
In Planning and Building we work efficiently, development-oriented and dynamic, with a focus on creating good frameworks for urban development and growth. Planning and Building consists of 3 departments that work with building case processing, local planning, municipal planning, development projects, climate, rural development, social housing, architecture and much more.
You will join the Urban Planning Department, which consists of 18 employees, whose primary area is planning tasks at the municipal and local planning level, master plans, architectural assessments and administration of the open land. Planning takes place in close cooperation with private and public clients for a very wide range of cases. The tasks are thus varied, challenging and demanding.
Your tasks
In the department we work in teams, and you will join the Planning Team. You will primarily prepare local plans and municipal plan amendments with participation in the entire planning process from the initial negotiations to the plan being finally adopted, as well as handle concrete inquiries about planning questions.
You will be working on coordinating larger complex projects and planning processes, and it will therefore be an advantage if you have experience with this from previous employment.
Task solving is carried out based on a holistic approach in close cooperation with the department's other units across Technology & Environment and often in collaboration with the municipality's other professional areas.
We expect that you
- have a relevant education (engineer, architect, urban designer, geographer, land surveyor, etc.)
- have a good knowledge of physical planning, including the Planning Act and the Environmental Assessment Act
- have several years of experience with local planning and municipal planning
- are able to listen to and understand citizens' wishes and needs
- are keen to achieve results together with citizens, organisations and businesses
- have good communication skills
- are eager to work in an interdisciplinary environment with contributions to holistic and flexible solutions
- have plenty of good humor and social engagement
We offer
- a job in a values-based organization where the personnel policy values are diversity, integrity, competence and courage
- opportunities for professional development in an attractive workplace with high activity and an ambitious level
- engaged and social colleagues
- a good workplace in motion, located in a beautiful and modern town hall with open office environments and a good canteen
