Vice Principal at Rødkilde Gymnasium

Rødkilde Gymnasium seeks to appoint, as of 1 December 2026, an engaged and development‑oriented vice principal who can work with operations and development with great attention to quality, wellbeing, and the work environment.

You will, as vice principal, work closely with the principal and the rest of the management team. Our management team consists of the principal, the vice principal, three heads of education and an economic manager. Our management framework is based, among other things, on the idea of psychological safety as a contributor to creating an organizational culture with the courage to innovate and act. It is a condition that all members of the management team perceive themselves and act as part of a team with loyalty.

At Rødkilde we are focused on creating high professional development for the students and believe that one of the gymnasium's most important tasks is to make students curious and motivated for further academic development and give them the courage to be active and participating democratic citizens. This means, among other things, that we focus on involving the students and establishing academically grounded collaboration with the surrounding community.

We believe that an important parameter for creating competent students is that our staff enjoy their work and want to contribute to the school's continued development.

The job involves, among other things

•

Pedagogical and academic leadership, contributing to ongoing development and strengthening of Rødkildes profile in collaboration with the management and the other staff at Rødkilde.

Operational tasks such as task distribution, creation of study lines and similar

•

Personnel leadership for a group of teachers.

•

Focus on quality assurance and contribute to ensuring that our education and teaching at all times meet applicable laws, regulations and quality requirements.

•

Participate as management representative for Rødkilde in selected external committees and/or projects.

•

Be a visible leader who naturally participates in the school culture at Rødkilde.

As a rule, the management tasks are distributed among the members of the management team once we know the new vice principal's competencies.

Competencies for the applicant;

•

Experience with leadership — preferably from the upper secondary education sector.

•

Passionate about driving good and professional leadership with an inclusive, motivating and appreciative leadership style.

•

Works systematically and has impact.

•

Professional leadership approach with a focus on making good decisions for Rødkilde and the community.

•

Can both initiate and complete tasks.

•

Is a team player who is not afraid to put themselves in play and loyally supports the decisions made

•

Teaching competence within the gymnasium's range of subjects

It is also advantageous, but not a prerequisite, that the vice principal holds a relevant master's degree.

Salary and terms of employment

Appointment is made in accordance with the Circular on the agreement for the "Appointment of managers at institutions within education and training in the Ministry of Education's area" of 28 June 2019.

There is an attractive pension scheme attached to the position.

Employment is contingent upon, at the latest at the start date, a satisfactory criminal record certificate and a clean child‑safety certificate.
