About the job

Help shape the direction of a school with strong communities and high ambitions

Are you passionate about creating good participation opportunities for all children? Do you believe that strong relationships, visible leadership and a shared direction are essential for a well-functioning school? Do you want to become part of a leadership team where you have real opportunity to influence both tasks, collaboration and the school's continued development?

Then you might be our new deputy headteacher at Fløng School.

A modern village school with strong communities

Fløng School is a modern village school in Høje-Taastrup Municipality with about 700 pupils distributed across general classes, reception classes, a special needs section and an attractive after-school club (SFO).

With us you will encounter a school characterized by engagement, high professionalism and strong communities. We work every day to create the best conditions for children's learning, well-being and development, and we believe that all children should feel themselves to be valuable participants in the community.

We have engaged staff, active parents and a close collaboration with the local community and our many partners.

Become part of a developing leadership team

You will become part of a relatively new leadership team that in recent years has worked purposefully to create stability, job satisfaction, clear direction and shared development.

Your main area of responsibility will be the middle years, but the portfolio of tasks will be determined in dialogue with the right candidate, with a view to competencies, interests and the school's overall needs. You will thus have the opportunity to influence both your own area of responsibility and the development of our shared leadership practice.

We are seeking a deputy headteacher who is close to the school’s daily life and present among children, staff and parents. You are curious about practice, follow up on agreements and decisions and contribute to creating coherence between visions and actions.

At the same time you can rally support around shared goals and development processes. You know that results are created through relationships, dialogue, clarity and involvement, and you can bring people together around common ambitions for the school's development.

Your tasks

The tasks will include, among others

  • Staff management, professional sparring and supporting employees’ development
  • Leading pedagogical, didactic and organizational development processes
  • Coordinating the school's daily operations and following up on joint initiatives
  • Collaboration with parents, cross-disciplinary partners and other stakeholders
  • Development of strong learning communities and participation opportunities for all children.

We are looking for a deputy headteacher who

  • Is trained as a teacher and has leadership experience from the school sector
  • Exercises visible and approachable leadership and is strong in relationship work
  • Can set a clear direction and create followership around shared goals
  • Works in a structured way and has an eye for people, the organization and results
  • Communicates clearly, builds trust and follows through on decisions
  • Can create good frameworks for employees' professional collaboration and contribute to a positive working environment
  • Is curious, reflective and motivated by development
  • Has—or is pursuing—a diploma in leadership
  • Thrives in close collaboration with staff, children, parents and leadership colleagues.

We offer

  • A school with engaged and capable staff
  • A daily environment characterized by high professionalism and strong relationships
  • A new and ambitious leadership team focused on collaboration and shared development
  • Opportunity to shape both your own area of responsibility and the school's further development
  • A strong leadership community across the municipality's schools
  • A workplace where well-being, professionalism and communities go hand in hand.

Want to join?

We are seeking a leader who wants to be close to the school's daily life, be an active collaborator in the school's development and contribute to creating the best conditions for children, staff and communities.

We look forward to hearing from you!
