Institute of Public Health
As a scientific assistant at the Institute of Public Health, you will be part of an internationally recognized institute where we work together to promote public health by researching areas that can prevent, treat and alleviate disease. We collaborate widely both internally and externally, and we share our knowledge with citizens, decision-makers, businesses, practitioners and other researchers – at municipal, regional, national and international levels.
The institute contributes to or is responsible for teaching in medicine, public health science, sports science, optometry and nursing. At the Institute of Public Health you will have about 200 colleagues – including around ninety scientific staff and a roughly similar number of PhD students. Your tasks

You contribute to the development of the institute's field through teaching and high-quality international research. In your daily work you will have close interaction with skilled colleagues.
The project concerns the collaboration between social psychiatry and treatment psychiatry in three municipalities and a region to develop a joint effort for adults with severe mental disorders. Work on the model started in 2019, the project began in 2020, and since then it has evolved through several phases focusing on both implementation and transition to more sustainable operation. The research project is based on a large qualitative data material with observations, interviews, focus group interviews and documents.
You will mainly collect more empirical data through observations, where you will accompany staff in their daily work, interviews and documents. In addition, you may also have the opportunity to participate in the analysis of the material. This can include reading, coding, systematization and summarizing interviews, field notes and documents. There will also be opportunities to contribute to article writing and other research dissemination.
You report to the institute director Michael Baggesen Klitgaard and on a day-to-day basis to Professor Viola Burau.
Your competences
