About the job
The Repatriation Authority's Outreach Unit is seeking two new colleagues who will help strengthen the proactive repatriation work for foreigners without legal residence in Denmark.
Welcome to the Outreach Unit
The Outreach Unit conducts repatriation conversations with residents of the deportation center, and you will, through open dialogue and ongoing repatriation guidance, help motivate foreigners without legal residence to voluntary return in close cooperation with relevant actors.
You will help ensure that foreigners without legal residence at the country's departure centers are advised about their options regarding voluntary return, and advise on the consequences of not participating in the return.
You will also contribute to the unit's other tasks, such as drafting responses to parliamentary questions, preparing party-file disclosures, and notes on practice.
Your tasks
You will have daily contact with foreigners at the departure center, and daily work will involve changing tasks and professional challenges in handling the core assignment. You will thus have an exciting societal role in a challenging everyday life, where human contact is at the center.
You will, among other things, work with
- Handling of access-to-information requests and preparation of consultation responses, practice notes, etc.
- Preparation of first-time submissions in connection with deprivation of liberty and/or remand
- Preparation of requests for court orders for, among other things, forcible placement, searches, etc.
- Advice on return to foreigners without legal residence in Denmark and decisions on participation in removal under the Return Act
- Conducting motivational conversations with residents at the deportation center
- Receiving personal inquiries in the Repatriation Authority's open advisory service
- Ongoing cooperation and coordination with national and international partners.
You will also have the opportunity to plan and participate in deployments to third countries, just as you will have the opportunity to participate in cross-disciplinary projects within the Ministry of Immigration and Integration's area.
About you
You have a relevant academic background, e.g., cand.jur., cand.soc. or similar. It is an advantage if you have an interest in immigration law and experience with case handling.
In addition, we imagine that you
- are professionally skilled and engaged in your work – you have an eye for detail, but can also see the whole
- work independently and are thorough in your approach to tasks
- can remain calm and have an overview in an environment with heightened security considerations
- can build trust and conduct individual conversations
- have strong social and communication skills
- thrive in cross-disciplinary collaboration and have a positive attitude
It is important that you have considered the target group housed at Udrejsecenter Kærshovedgård, and that you thrive in a sometimes hectic and unpredictable daily life.
We can offer you
As our new employee in the Outreach Unit you will have the opportunity to strengthen your professional and especially personal competencies at a unique workplace.
The Outreach Unit is distributed across three teams covering the departure centers located in different parts of the country, and we total 21 employees. At Udrejsecenter Kærshovedgård you will be part of a team of 9 dedicated and capable employees with a wide variety of educational backgrounds.
We as an unit focus on creating good conditions for well-being and maintaining a good working environment and collegial community. We emphasize knowledge sharing, professional sparring, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. We offer flexibility in working hours, and can offer the possibility of remote work by agreement.
As part of your onboarding you will be enrolled in an onboarding program. The training will, as a rule, take place at Kærshovedgård but also at our main office in Birkerød north of Copenhagen. You should therefore expect some travel time in connection with your onboarding.
