About the job

Would you like to create varied movement opportunities as a nursery educator at Piletræet?

At Piletræet we are seeking a nursery educator who will participate in play and support our focus on children's movement opportunities. Sabine is going on maternity leave, so we have space for you in the Bille room.

Come and experience Piletræet

This could be your everyday life: you step in the door and one of the first things you meet is a colleague saying good morning and then the children run to meet you with big smiles. The children play outside in the common room where they race on motorcycles, crawl over foam modules while your colleague rocks a child who needs a calm and gentle start. Then you take the children into the room where the play environments invite immersion and presence.

In one end of the room your colleagues support the children’s jumping play as they leap from the foam modules. In the other end, your colleague and a small group of the youngest children have taken out the singing trunk and they sing while making signs.

At Piletræet we are in the process of living out and formulating our pedagogical approach with a focus on creating varied movement opportunities for the children through play. We are looking for you as our new colleague in the Bille room, as Sabine goes on maternity leave.

You do not need to have previously worked with movement opportunities as a pedagogical focus to fit in at Piletræet. We simply want you to see opportunities in an active view of childhood with room for play and physical expression.

Our structure in the nursery

The nursery department at Piletræet consists of three rooms: Brumbasserne, Sommerfuglene and Billerne (your room). In addition to being room-divided, we have a strong focus on working across rooms in the nursery department and with the kindergarten. We have room days on Mondays and Wednesdays, year-group days on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and playground day on Fridays. On room days you structure activities for the children in your own room, working in smaller groups.

On year-group days you represent a year group, where you and your colleagues from the other rooms plan what you will play with the children from your year group in the nursery department. When we have playground day we collaborate across rooms and we hold room meetings. This means you have a fixed rotation with a room meeting every three weeks together with your room colleagues. You also have a year-group meeting every three weeks with your colleagues from the other rooms who also represent your year group.

At Piletræet we value structure and preparation time highly. We believe this provides better conditions for our professional work with the children. Therefore, of course, as a nursery educator at Piletræet you have one hour of scheduled preparation time.

The special thing about Piletræet

At Piletræet we work to create varied movement opportunities. This does not mean we are running around all the time, but that we want to create a playful environment where the children gain greater belief in their own abilities. We also place high value on collegial collaboration. We have strong participation in our staff events, we play during our staff meetings and there is generally an informal and pleasant atmosphere in the institution where you are met with many smiles.

At Piletræet the grass may be walked on and we are always open to new ideas and input. It also happens that we make mistakes, but we always practice learning from them.

Piletræet has started a process to become an ICDP-institution as part of a common goal for the entire day care area in Vallensbæk.

In addition, we have initiated a project focusing on early motor skills in collaboration with PPR and the health visiting service, which Piletræet facilitates.
