About the job
We are seeking a strategically strong and experienced leader who is passionate about creating the best conditions for the wellbeing, development and participation of children and young people.
As head of PPR you will have the opportunity to lead a well-functioning department with strong professional expertise and engaged staff. You will set the direction for the continued development of PPR and strengthen collaboration with daycare, schools and families – with a focus on more participation opportunities and sustainable communities for children and young people in the municipality.
Do you have a strategic vision, strong relational competences and a desire to make a difference? Then you may be the one we are looking for.
About the job
Ringsted Municipality's PPR is seeking a new leader who, with experience and a high level of competence, can step into a well-functioning unit and ensure continued support for both citizens, schools and daycare while also placing a strategic focus on the development demanded by the times.
Our core task is to support the wellbeing, development and participation opportunities of children and young people in their own lives. We therefore work to prevent and reduce social and educational challenges through advisory services and practice-oriented guidance to schools, day-care institutions, parents and other partners.
Your leadership duties will include
- Chief executive of PPR with responsibility for strategic leadership as well as daily operations.
- Leader of the Easily Accessible treatment service together with two other leaders from two other areas of expertise.
- Set the direction for the professional and strategic development of PPR and ensure continued development of practice-based guidance and cross-professional task solving.
- Collaboration with other centers and authorities about our children, young people and families in Ringsted Municipality.
- Closest manager for staff in Team North and the team leader in Team South.
Who are you
We are looking for an experienced leader, ideally from a similar position, who has in-depth knowledge of PPR as well as the Easily Accessible treatment service. Experience with both strategic leadership and solid day-to-day operations will be in focus.
We emphasize that you can create a positive working environment with a high professional level, where employees thrive, develop and take responsibility. Therefore, staff and management continually collaborate on competence development, organization as well as development of initiatives and methods.
Our PPR unit consists of a strong community with energetic, dedicated and skilled staff in a workplace characterized by humor, high ceilings and many professional and social activities. It is therefore important that our incoming leader can exercise transparent and clear leadership based on trust and dialogue.
As a leader you must both be able to make decisions and set a clear direction, while creating inclusive processes and being close to staff and their professional expertise. You must be able to navigate confidently in an organization with many different professional fields and collaboration interfaces, and at the same time be able to lead upwards and engage constructively in the strategic development of the area.
Employees in PPR describe the following words for their upcoming leader
Transparent, authentic, exercises trust-based leadership, inclusive, sets frameworks and direction, cross-professional leadership of several different professional fields, structured, can lead upwards, contributes with motivation, engagement and good energy.
The Department
Ringsted Municipality's Pedagogical-psychological Counseling (PPR) is organizationally placed in the School Center. The unit handles tasks in both the daycare and school sectors and serves Ringsted Municipality's 25 daycare centers, 8 public schools and 6 free and private schools. In addition, PPR handles tasks related to the municipality's two specialized school offerings and center departments.
Ringsted PPR consists of 21 staff with diverse professional backgrounds: speech and hearing consultants, motor skill consultants, psychologists, pedagogical-psychological consultants and absence consultants. The unit is organized into two districts with their own team leaders, one of whom you will be. We work cross-professionally around the tasks carried out in close cooperation with daycare, schools and other municipal partners.
The portfolio of tasks spans a wide range and includes, among other things, counseling and guidance, PPV, intake, referrals to psychiatry and a portion of Ringsted Municipality's easily accessible treatment services for children aged 6-11 years.
In recent years, Ringsted PPR has worked purposefully to come closer to the pedagogical and didactic practice in day-care and schools. Practice-oriented guidance has become an important part of our task solution, where advice and professional sparring more often take place based on concrete practice and together with the professionals around the child. This is a development we want to continue and expand in the coming years.
Ringsted PPR will initiate in November a joint training program in LØFT and Signs of Safety. The goal is to strengthen our shared professional foundation and develop our toolkit with new perspectives on, among other things, meeting facilitation, dialogue and support for change and development. The training shall give us a common language and a common starting point to explore how approaches from LØFT and Signs of Safety can be meaningfully integrated into our collaboration with daycare and schools.
A particular strength of our PPR unit is the clear internal and external collaboration structures. We have built an organization with clear workflows, quality standards and fixed collaboration interfaces, which support a high degree of accessibility and coherence in task solving. This means, among other things, that the department currently handles its tasks without waiting lists.
We offer
As the leader of Ringsted PPR you will have a central position in the municipality in the work with children and young people. You will become part of the overall management group in the School Center, where both leadership development, sparring and joint task solving shape the collaboration.
You will have the management responsibility for a PPR unit characterized by versatility and a high degree of flexibility, where freedom and shared responsibility are key concepts. We share a systemic understanding based on a solution-focused approach. We recognize that children and young people develop through participation in communities, and that their difficulties must therefore be understood in relation to the development and learning environments where they appear.
You will have close collaboration with the other Children and Youth area in the municipality. In Ringsted Municipality we have a clear collaboration structure, the Development Model, which focuses on close cooperation between local and central professionals and parents. We work according to politically adopted quality standards in the Children and Youth area, which give citizens simple and clear information about processes and deadlines for our tasks.
You will report to the Chief of Schools and will participate in ongoing sparring.
In addition, our PPR department is centrally located in Ringsted within walking distance of the station.
