Your profile

We are seeking an instructor with a particular interest in simulation, clinical decision-making and nursing in acute and complex patient pathways. You are committed to creating practice-oriented learning pathways where nursing students develop clinical insight, prioritization ability and action competence in acute care and treatment situations.

You can translate nursing and clinical knowledge into teaching that supports the students’ ability to observe, assess, communicate and make clinical decisions in interaction with patients, relatives and interprofessional collaborators.

You view simulation and skills training as central didactic tools in the work with patient safety, clinical reasoning and professional development.

In addition, we expect that you have

• A health professional basic education
• A relevant health science or social science educational background at master’s, candidate, and preferably PhD level
• IT and technology competencies at an advanced user level, including experience with e-didactics and use of technology to support flipped and blended learning

Your tasks

As an instructor with us you become part of a professional environment where tasks are distributed across three main areas: undergraduate education, continuing and further education, and research and development. You will handle tasks in all three areas as a natural part of the position. Some examples of tasks could be:

Teaching, guidance, feedback and examination in the nursing education . Depending on your profile, you will plan, conduct and evaluate teaching in close collaboration with experienced colleagues and under the supervision of the educational leader. The teaching will particularly cover natural and health science subjects such as anatomy and physiology, pathology and clinical decision-making with a focus on creating coherence between natural scientific knowledge, clinical assessments and nursing practice.

Continuing education of health professionals. Depending on your profile, you will join teaching teams with experienced colleagues who work with competency-based programs for health professionals in Region Zealand – either through the health professional diploma education or commissioned programs from practice.

Research and development. Together with skilled researchers you will contribute to the center’s research and development activities, e.g. by participating in project implementation, contributing to data collection or taking part in grant applications. The tasks are performed under supervision with experienced researchers.

Your colleagues

At the nursing education offering in Slagelse you will be colleagues with about 25 capable and professionally engaged colleagues. Together we contribute to an environment characterized by good humor and openness. Our daily lunch often serves as a cozy gathering point where we share ideas and experiences.

At the nursing education, we are a total of about 86 staff distributed across our five outreach sites organized into Team Roskilde/Holbæk, Team Slagelse and Team Næstved/Nykøbing. All staff solve tasks within undergraduate education, continuing and further education, and research and development, and we emphasize knowledge sharing and solving tasks in collaboration.

We are part of the Center for Health which comprises the occupational therapy education, nutrition and health education, physiotherapy education, midwifery education and the health administrative coordinator education. In the center we are about 140 employees in total.

Employment is carried out under the applicable collective agreement in the state sector.

• There is the possibility of both part-time and full-time from January 1, 2027.
• For you who are a recent graduate and are hired as an adjunct, the expected starting salary would be 36,822.43 DKK, including pension. For you who are an experienced instructor and are hired as a senior lecturer, the expected starting salary would be 54,630.59 DKK, including pension.

Depending on your qualifications you will be hired as adjunct or senior lecturer

At Absalon, the adjunct position is a 4-year educational post. We support this through Absalon’s lecturer qualification program, which all newly hired adjuncts participate in, and everyone is assigned a mentor. To be hired as a senior lecturer it requires a positive senior lecturer assessment within the scope of the position.

When hiring lecturers who were senior lecturer assessed before the 2013 position structure, the hiring is carried out under the previously centrally fixed salary and employment terms. Depending on your qualifications, weighed against the concrete content of the position, a renewed senior lecturer assessment under the current position structure (fast-track arrangement) may be agreed.
