About the job
Organisational and Leadership Consultant at Aarhus University Hospital
Do you want to help develop leadership and organisation at one of Denmark’s largest and most complex hospitals? Do you have experience designing and facilitating practice-oriented leadership and organisational development – and are you interested in chief recruitment and eager to help advance our work in this area? Then you might be the person we are looking for.
About us
We are a small, but highly sought-after consultancy unit in HR, working with leadership and organisational development across Aarhus University Hospital.
We advise and spar with managers and management groups at all levels and help the hospital’s departments with both the ongoing leadership tasks and larger organisational changes. Our tasks range from development of leaders and leadership groups, chief recruitment and onboarding to organisational development, cross-department collaboration and larger development and implementation projects. We also arrange larger gatherings and seminars for the executive group and AUH’s around 600 managers and contribute to developing the hospital’s shared leadership practice.
The health sector is undergoing significant change these years. New tasks, changed collaboration interfaces and new ways of organising work place high demands on both leaders and the organisation. At AUH we therefore work with development of new organisational and leadership forms, cross-department collaboration and sectors, and translating strategic ambitions into practice close to the core task.
Our common starting point is that our work should be tangible in the organisation. We care about everyday life in the departments we help and we work closely with leaders and employees to find solutions that can work in practice.
We also place great emphasis on professional sparring, knowledge sharing and a good social work environment. We expect everyone to take responsibility for making the team more competent as we go – and we have a culture where there must also be room to test, learn and adjust.
Your role and your tasks
As an organisational and leadership consultant at AUH you will have a broad portfolio of tasks and will work both independently and closely with colleagues.
Your tasks will include, among other things
- designing and implementing organisational and leadership development programs in close collaboration with managers and employees
- advising and sparring with managers and leadership groups at all levels in the organisation
- working with recruitment of executives and leaders and contributing to professional and value-creating recruitment processes
- contributing to further developing AUH’s approach to chief recruitment – e.g. our methods, processes and how we advise managers and the appointment committees
- facilitating development of leadership groups and cross-department and cross-discipline collaboration
- supporting the development of new organisational, collaborative and leadership forms
- contributing to larger strategic development and implementation processes
- planning and executing larger leadership events, seminars and other joint activities for AUH’s leaders
Chief recruitment is a core task in the team. You don’t necessarily need to be a specialist in the area today, but we expect that you want to work with recruitment of leaders and executives and are curious about how we can develop the area further. If you already have experience with leadership or executive recruitment, that is naturally an advantage.
Your profile
We imagine that you
- have a relevant academic background and expertise in consultancy, leadership, organisation or change processes
- have experience with leadership and organisational development, ideally from a large and complex organisation or from the consulting sector
- are a good facilitator, can build trusting relationships and at the same time challenge leaders and the organisation in a constructive way
- have an interest in chief recruitment and a desire to both solve concrete recruitment tasks and develop our practice in the area
- thrive in a day-to-day life where tasks vary and you manage several simultaneous tasks while maintaining an overview – even when priorities change
- work in a structured way with attention to both the whole and details, are curious and learning-oriented and have the courage to try new approaches
With us you will get
- the opportunity to work with some of the most interesting and complex leadership and organisational challenges in the public sector
- great variation in tasks – from concrete sparring with a manager or leadership group to development processes across the entire hospital
- the possibility of taking a central role in the work with and development of chief recruitment at AUH
- a strong professional and collegial community with a high level of sparring and knowledge sharing
- substantial freedom and flexibility in planning both working time and task execution
- opportunity for ongoing development of your consulting expertise
- opportunity to contribute to the development of the health service of the future.
