Would you be a friend for a boy with muscular dystrophy in Charlottenlund

Would you like to step in as a temp, where you support a happy and age-appropriate boy of 11 years who is diagnosed with muscular dystrophy?

About the task

You will be attached to a happy and age-appropriate boy of 11 years. He is positive, curious and has many interests, including gaming, chess and football. The physical challenges mean he needs support in daily life, but he also wants to be able to do things on his own and experience himself as more independent.

Your role is to be a combination of practical support and active playing partner. You help him fetch and prepare food and drinks, pick things up and support him when he walks or needs to go up and down stairs. At the same time you help propose and initiate activities, go on trips and create meaningful afternoons and weekends, also on days when energy level is lower and more fluctuating.

The family has a disability-friendly car with space for his electric scooter, and part of the task can be to drive trips out of the house. It is a requirement that you have a driver's license and are comfortable driving the citizen's disability car. The task is about relieving parents and siblings.

About you

You preferably have experience with children and young people. You can work independently in a 1:1 assignment and have a calm approach, while being eager to be active and take initiative. You manage to support without taking over and can adapt pace and activities to the boy's energy and needs.

Working hours

5 hours every Sunday from 11 to 16

There will be more hours in due course.

Salary and pension in accordance with the National Collective Agreement for disability assistance in the citizen's own home (minus BPA) entered into between FOA and Danish Business. You are covered by DUOS’ liability and workers' compensation insurance and health insurance is part of your pension plan.
