At Ballerup Public Libraries we work according to an ambitious strategy, where we want to be even more present, current and relevant for the municipality's citizens. We especially want to reach new library users and the many new residents moving to the municipality in these years.

Therefore we are seeking a communications officer who can drive, coordinate and develop the library's communications efforts. We are looking for a creative and innovative storyteller who can translate our many offerings, activities and communities into stories that engage citizens and create a desire to participate.

About the position

As a communications officer you should be able to tell the story of why and how the library is relevant for the citizens of Ballerup. You must ensure that we are visible where citizens go - both physically and digitally. You can connect our many different offerings to citizens' interests and needs.

You need to be both strategic and hands-on. You must produce content yourself and ensure that our communication is coherent across channels and audiences - while also helping and collaborating with your colleagues.

We believe that communication is something the whole organization contributes to. Therefore your task is not to solve all communication yourself, but also to create direction, frameworks and quality so that we succeed together in reaching the citizens. It also means that you have an eye for how we prioritize and use our resources in the best possible way, what your colleagues can contribute with, and when we should use which channels and which formats.

As a communications officer you should be proactive both within the organization and throughout the municipality. You thrive in a day-to-day environment with many different tasks and collaboration opportunities.

Your primary tasks, in addition to

• Develop, drive and coordinate the Ballerup Libraries' overall communications effort.
• Attract new users through targeted communication in Danish and English.
• Create strong stories about the library's offerings and significance.
• Develop content for the website, newsletters and social media.
• Strengthen communities and dialogue via social media.
• Advise colleagues on messages, audiences and channel selection.
• Analyze and optimize communications efforts based on data and user insights.
• Standardize communication processes and make the best use of resources.
• Have overall responsibility for editorial and information architecture on bib.ballerup.dk.

The Ballerup Libraries consist of a main library, two cultural centers with and without physical library collections as well as around 42 creative and skilled library enthusiasts with different professional backgrounds, all of whom set the bar high. Hiring process and salary

In your application we would like you to describe how you will concretely approach the work tasks.

Start date: January 1, 2027

We offer salary and employment terms in accordance with the agreement for academics in the municipalities.

Employment takes place according to the principles of local wage formation and after agreement with the negotiating organization.

The salary range for the academic position is DKK 40,251.78 – 54,053.33 per month before pension for full-time employment (37 hours per week).

The final salary is set after negotiations between the employer and the union that has bargaining rights in the relevant collective agreement area. Salary depends, among other things, on your education, documented seniority and qualifications.

Upon employment we will obtain a child-safety clearance.
