If you dream of becoming part of the Vejle Fire Department together with a lot of good colleagues - about 110 affiliated colleagues including full-time, part-time, volunteers and management - at the Norgesvej 1 fire station, 7100 Vejle, you now have the opportunity to apply for one vacant position as an emergency preparedness assistant.

We are now seeking, with a start date of January 1, 2027, a new colleague because one of our colleagues has chosen to retire.

As an emergency preparedness assistant, your daily tasks will include: - Participate in the operational tasks related to a rescue service, but also other tasks performed for the Vejle Municipality, including, among other things, patient lifting.

• Perform daily tasks at the fire station, such as preparation and inspection of vehicles and equipment, both before and after deployments.
• Vehicle maintenance and other maintenance and cleaning tasks at the station.
• Participate in the daily maintenance training.
• Participate in the daily logistical tasks at the station.

We expect that you: - Have a high level of commitment, high professionalism, be proactive, can work independently and enjoy challenges, be change-conscious, readily take the lead in any situation or task.

• Must possess a good mood, integrity, a humble approach and contribute positively to the social environment at the station.
• Take ownership of your employment relationship and your social capital at the station.
• Actively engage in sparring and knowledge sharing with colleagues and management.
• Have an honest, humble, respectful and egalitarian approach to colleagues, management and partners.
• Must have completed and maintained function-specific training in operations or firefighting.
• Be in good physical shape and be able to pass a physical evaluation (functional test).
• Have a driving license for category B, C, and very preferably for BE and CE.
• Have a clean criminal record.

In addition, it is desirable, but not required, that you: - Are trained as a line holder.

• Are trained rescue diver.
• Have crane certificate – crane D.
• Have forklift certificate
• Have EU qualification certificate

Salary and terms of employment According to the applicable collective agreement and the principles of Ny Løn.

The application deadline is 8 November 2026. There will be a 1st interview and assessment day on 18 November 2026 and a 2nd interview on 25 November 2026.

There will be a physical test for the assessment day. The requirements for the physical test can be read on the website www.vejlebrandvæsen.dk

We use a personality profile analysis in connection with the appointment, prior to the 2nd interview.

About Vejle Fire Department Vejle Fire Department consists of five fire stations and approximately 145 firefighters, all of whom help create security for 125,000 inhabitants, businesses and visitors in Vejle Municipality.

There are annually around 800 on-call related tasks from the fire station in Vejle.

The Vejle fire station is a specialist station and therefore assists all fire stations with additional extinguishing equipment, such as rescue ladders, water tankers, hose tenders, environmental and chemical vehicle, rescue divers and rescue boat, as well as logistics functions across the five fire stations, including an auto workshop, smoke diver workshop, washing and cleaning of equipment and gear.
