Can you set the direction for our test environments, create clear frameworks and make them live across IT? Then you might be our new test environment lead.

At Sampension we are facing an ambitious transformation, where over the next 6-8 years we will modernize our entire system landscape. As solutions and deliveries become more cross-cutting and closely connected, professional management of our test environments becomes a crucial prerequisite for the transformation to succeed.

We are therefore seeking a test environment lead who takes ownership of our test and pre-production environments and ensures that versions, data, integrations and configurations are available where and when they are needed. Thus you create a stable foundation for one of the largest transformations of our IT landscape.

Your role

The role is organizationally located in IT, Operations and Infrastructure and has a central, cross-cutting function in IT. You will be the focal point for governance and development of our test and pre-production environments and ensure that the frameworks are clear and adhered to in the organization and developed in line with the area’s maturity.

The role requires that you understand different interests and dependencies across deliveries and stakeholders. You must be able to handle priorities and competing interests and ensure clear direction when needs, technical dependencies and timelines collide.

Your key tasks will be to

• own and further develop the test and pre-production environments and establish and anchor principles for their use
• coordinate deployments and environment usage and establish principles for use and reloading of test data
• create an overview of environments, versions, data, integrations and dependencies
• ensure clear prioritization and handle conflicting needs constructively
• drive standardization, automation and ongoing optimization of the area

Your profile

Your background could be in test environment management, release management, DevOps, configuration management, technical project management or operations. You have experience creating structure and progress across technical areas and deliveries and thrive with responsibility.

In addition, you are expected to

• have an understanding of version control, configurations, deployments, integrations, data flows and technical dependencies
• work analytically and in a structured way with governance, processes and documentation and maintain an overview of simultaneous tasks and in complex contexts
• be strong in stakeholder management and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• take ownership, follow tasks through to completion and create progress without formal line management responsibility

We do not expect you to be an expert in everything. Instead you should be able to create an overview, ask the right questions and assemble the necessary competencies. The role is about ensuring a stable foundation for effective testing.
