At Vilvorde near Roskilde Technical School we train some of the industry’s most skilled landscape gardeners. We are now looking for a professionally strong and committed craft teacher who is passionate about the landscape gardening trade and eager to share your knowledge, experience and passion with the next generation.

About the job

As a craft teacher on the landscaping apprenticeship, your most important task is to translate your practical experience into inspiring teaching that prepares the students for a modern and development-oriented industry.

You will, among other things, be working with

• Teaching on basic and main programs primarily within construction technology, design and planning, cultural technique, climate technology and possibly the pipe laying trade.
• Planning, execution and development of practice-oriented teaching programs.
• Interdisciplinary projects in collaboration with colleagues and students.
• Academic guidance and support for students with different prerequisites.
• Participation in study trips, excursions, open house events and other activities where we promote the education.
• Continuous development of teaching, learning environment and educational quality.

Who are you?

You have solid experience from the landscaping industry and are motivated to develop people. You may already have teaching experience, or you may be an experienced professional who is ready to use your knowledge in a new way.

We imagine that you

• are trained as a landscape gardener with a specialization in construction technology or have a relevant higher education such as horticultural and park engineer, urban landscape engineer, landscape architect or technologist
• have several years of practical experience with construction-technical tasks, design and establishment of installations
• have a broad professional understanding and can connect theory and practice
• can convey academic material in a motivating, clear and engaging way
• thrive in collaboration with both young and adult students and colleagues
• are curious about digital tools and want to work with, among other things, Moodle, AutoCAD and SketchUp
• contribute with commitment, initiative, good humor and an appreciative approach to others.

It is an advantage if you have experience with teaching, curriculum planning or knowledge of vocational education, but it is not a requirement. We will provide the necessary pedagogical upskilling if you come directly from the industry.

Terms of employment and application deadline

Employment as a craft teacher on civil-service-like terms. Salary and pension are determined in accordance with the current circular between the Ministry of Finance and LC.
