VVS technicians with a keen eye for the education sector

We are looking for an experienced plumber (VVS’er) who is passionate about creating a bridge between the Danish Business Authority's technical authorizations and educational institutions, and about translating professional knowledge and authority requirements into a constructive dialogue about the content and quality of education. You should have experience with small or larger gas installations, as you will work based in the gas team and have tasks in this area alongside the tasks in education.

The professional link to VVS education

Our authorization team processes approvals in the VVS and gas area and needs your knowledge of the authorizing VVS educations. You will become the team’s professional sparring partner when we assess educational backgrounds in connection with approval as a professional supervisor. A central part of the job is that you function as a bridge between the Business Authority (Erhvervsstyrelsen) and educational institutions.

You should be keen to build relationships, create a constructive dialogue and contribute to ensuring that the education and the agency's requirements align well. You will also be the one people come to with questions about whether a specific piece of work requires authorization.

A smaller part of your tasks will also be to familiarize yourself with overarching requirements in the sewerage area, so you can be a professional sparring partner in this area.

In the gas team we go to work every day to ensure that Danish consumers and businesses can safely use gas at home, on the production line, or as part of the green transition. As part of the gas team you will guide advisers and VVS’ers about both existing and upcoming rules in the gas area and contribute to the team with your practical VVS expertise.

What will you do?

Collaboration and colleagues: You will have 10 engaged and technically skilled colleagues in the gas team. Your colleagues are ready to spar on the area – both administratively and technically. Therefore it’s fine if you don’t know everything about the entire gas area, because we learn from each other.

Professional link to educational institutions: You become the Business Authority’s central contact on the authorizing VVS educations. You build and maintain relations with educational institutions, follow developments in the education sector and contribute to a common understanding of the professional and regulatory requirements. If you don’t have a background as a teacher you may not know everything about the education area. That’s okay – just be ready to learn it.

Guidance and communication: You help companies and educational institutions understand and navigate the function-based legislation in the gas area and the agency’s requirements for the authorizing educations. This requires you to be able to lead a constructive dialogue and convey professional requirements clearly and practically both orally and in writing. You may also have the opportunity to give professional talks in person and digitally.

Professional sparring partner: You become a professional sparring partner regarding VVS, gas and sewer for e.g. the authorization area. You must therefore be able to translate and convey your technical knowledge so that it is easy to understand for non-technical colleagues.

Who are you?

You are a trained VVS’er and have solid practical and technical experience from the VVS and gas area. It is an advantage if you have an A- or B-certificates and knowledge of the authorizing VVS educations. First and foremost you must be passionate about being the link between the Business Authority and educational institutions. You are motivated to build strong professional relationships, understand different perspectives and get authority requirements and education practices to meet.

Good communication skills: You communicate clearly with colleagues and external customers and can convey complex information in an easily understandable way – also to other professional groups.

Proactive and solution-oriented: You see opportunities where others see challenges and act on them with enthusiasm and experience.

Civil servant and politically governed organization: If you have knowledge of working in a public and politically governed organization as well as the Public Administration Act and handling of authority cases, it is an advantage, but not a requirement. The most important is your professionalism and your engagement in the role as professional link to educational institutions.

Driver’s license: It is a requirement that you have a driver’s license, as activities may take place around Denmark. Cars are available at the Business Authority.
