WALTERS SEEKS A GENERAL MANAGER

Are you the type who naturally takes charge when the bar is busy, the music is playing, and there needs to be control over guests, staff and operations?

Then perhaps you are the one we are looking for.

We are seeking a general manager for Walters – our small bar on the corner of Jomfru Ane Gade.

Walters is not the place with long command chains and heavy systems. It is a bar with a high tempo, lots of guest contact and a day-to-day where the general manager must be able to take responsibility and make things run – before, during and after a busy evening.

*YOUR RESPONSIBILITY*

As general manager you will be responsible for the daily operations of Walters and become the person who ensures that the bar functions – both practically, financially and people-wise.

Your tasks will include

• Leadership and motivation of the bartender team
• Scheduling and staffing
• Training of new employees
• Responsibility for the daily operations and execution
• Stock ordering, inventory and consumption
• Focus on turnover, payroll percentage and other key figures
• Ensuring a high level of service and a good guest experience
• Active participation in operations – we are looking for a leader who also stands behind the bar
• Ongoing development of Walters together with the rest of the organisation

*WHO ARE YOU?*

You likely have experience from bar, nightlife, restaurant or hospitality – perhaps already as bar manager, sous-chef or person in charge.

Your title is less important than your personality.

You take responsibility. You can rally a young team around you. You have attention to detail without losing perspective, and you understand that good leadership is about both setting expectations and creating a place where people want to come to work.

And most importantly: You thrive in nightlife and enjoy being a part of the operation.
