Sigrid Undset School is a specialized school- and after-school care (SFO) provision. We receive every day happy and wonderful students with general learning difficulties from kindergarten through 10th grade. In this school year the student body is 115 pupils.

What is common to all staff and professional groups at Sigrid Undset is commitment and interest in children with special needs, their well-being and development.

Our theoretical basis regarding work with students' personal and social development is rooted in systemic theory and neuroaffective developmental psychology.

Our goal is to increase all students' life skills as much as possible, in order to achieve as high-quality and independent a life as possible during and after their schooling.

Your profile

• You have a background as a teacher with special educational experience
• You have or wish to develop your knowledge of communication in a highly specialized setting – so that you can meet students where they are communicatively
• You may have knowledge of alternative communication and knowledge of pedagogical tools e.g., TTT, Go’talk, Intensive Interaction, Matching, Classroom Management, NUSSA etc.
• You can create clear structure in the student’s daily life
• You have patience, humor and a positive approach to challenges
• You can plan and perform pedagogical teaching based on the individual student’s prerequisites
• You have inner calm that our students can lean on
• You will collaborate with all professional groups and understand the synergy of diversity and the importance of having shared goals
• You must be able to work purposefully, structurally and express yourself in writing regarding student plans and status descriptions
• You are committed to development and learning - especially the students' - but also your own and the organization’s.

• Sigrid Undset School and Special SFO Tulla
• Adult special school with partly "Youth Education for Young People with Special Needs" and a course department for adults with disabilities e.g., mental developmental disability, late acquired brain injuries and dyslexia
• The respite facility Kildebo with 10 night places
• The special institution Lærkereden with currently 16 children.
