About the job
We are seeking a clinical ward manager, who together with a dedicated and motivated interdisciplinary staff team is motivated by and wishes to further develop the citizen-centered offering with the citizen and their relatives at the center. Our unit's various professional backgrounds work closely together on time-limited rehabilitative citizen pathways, which may include observation, care, treatment, rehabilitation and basic palliative care.
The initiatives take their starting point in the citizen's overall situation and should support the citizen to return to as independent an everyday life as possible – with the experience of self-determination, security and dignity. The majority of citizens referred to a health and care placement come after a shorter or longer hospital stay.
We are looking for someone who
- creates cohesion through dialogue, trust and clarity
- is proactive and development-oriented with a focus on high professional quality
- can translate strategic ambitions – including the Health Reform's visions – into concrete initiatives and results
- thrives in interprofessional and cross-sector collaboration
- has a relevant health-professional education and preferably a relevant leadership education
From January 1, 2027, the region will take over responsibility for a number of tasks currently carried out by municipalities, including health and care placements as well as acute nursing. The Department for Citizen-Centered Health, located at Herlev and Gentofte Hospital, will be responsible for 7 locations with a total of 285 health- and care-placements in cooperation with the 9 municipalities in the Health Council Copenhagen Outer North.
The aim is to create citizen-centered offerings with high and uniform quality as well as coherent pathways across hospital, municipality and other partners. We in Søborg are one of the 7 locations that in the future will handle the upcoming task for health- and care-placements in the regional scope. We have 63 inpatient places distributed over 3 wards with interdisciplinary staff groups.
About the position
You will be the head of a ward with 18 citizen-centered health- and care-placements, and you will have line management responsibility for an interdisciplinary staff group as well as daily interaction and collaboration with the unit's other professional groups, including doctors, dietitians, social workers and development nurses.
On the ward, citizens with many different rehabilitation and training needs are admitted, but with a main emphasis on neurological issues. For example, citizens with brain infarction, bleeding or other serious conditions who, after hospital treatment, require a longer rehabilitation and training stay.
As ward manager you have overall responsibility for staff, professionalism, operations and development, and you will play a central role in creating the right framework and environment so that staff can succeed with the core task regardless of profession. We are looking for a visible and present leader who creates direction, engagement and results through dialogue, involvement and clear expectations. At the same time you must ensure sustainable operations, where resources are used as effectively as possible for the benefit of citizens, relatives and staff.
You know that the quality of the meeting with the citizen and their relatives is closely linked to the staff's well-being, competencies and working environment, and therefore you actively work to develop strong professional communities and a culture characterized by care, attention, collaboration and learning.
As ward manager you become part of the house's overall management team, which consists of two other ward managers and our unit chief. Here you contribute in close collaboration with the unit chief, the other ward managers, internal and external partners to develop and drive the future citizen-centered health offering.
You do not stand alone with the task, but become part of a strong community with access to competencies including scheduling, administration, quality and development as well as HR and finance. This gives you good conditions to focus on professional leadership, employee well-being and high quality in the efforts for citizens and relatives.
