With us you will have good opportunities for professional development and a work environment where collaboration and well-being go hand in hand. We are looking for you who want to help create quality in children's everyday life. If that sounds like something for you, read on here.

The Svalehuset Kindergarten, a department in Dagtilbuddet Vest, is seeking as of 1.12.2026 or as soon as possible, a trained pedagogical assistant or a teaching assistant (pædagogmedhjælper) for a permanent position of 37 hours per week. We can be flexible regarding the contract hours.

Dagtilbuddet Vest – a community for four day-care centers toward the West

Dagtilbuddet Vest consists of four departments; Svalehuset in Janderup, Outrup Kindergarten, Skovmusen in Oksbøl and Mælkevejen in Nr. Nebel. Dagtilbuddet Vest has an overall daycare manager and a daily leader in each department. The employment is in Dagtilbuddet Vest with the workplace at The Svalehuset Kindergarten.

Why choose us?

In Dagtilbuddet Vest we base our pedagogical practice on the latest research-based knowledge about children's development and development-supportive contact. We meet each child starting from a neuroaffective understanding and maintain a ongoing focus on creating high quality for our core task – children's development, well-being and formation.

We take responsibility for contact and the relationship with the child, and therefore all staff participate regularly in Marte Meo basic training, which is an educational program with Christina Abildgaard. We see ourselves as the most important pedagogical tool in working to support children's development of socioemotional competencies. We have a particular focus on development-supportive contact and emphasize following children's initiatives in interaction.

Professional knowledge sharing and collegial support of the pedagogical practice are given high priority because we want to strengthen each other in the work of creating the best possible quality for our core task.

We prioritize a good working environment where openness, responsibility, curiosity, flexibility and shared responsibility for the good atmosphere are core values. At the same time, we work innovatively and continuously seek to try and develop new initiatives.

In addition to our own training programs, employees also participate in Varde Municipality's competence development, which currently is a cross-cutting development program with Anders Seneca with the purpose of making good even better and strengthening the quality of our core task across the day-care sector.

More about The Svalehuset Kindergarten

The Svalehuset is a kindergarten normed for 42 children aged 3–6 years. We are physically located on the edge of Janderup, with short distances to wonderful natural areas that we actively use in everyday life. Svalehuset is built together with Aktivitetshuset, which gives us very special opportunities to work with motor skills and movement in creative and varied ways.

We work from the new child perspective and meet the children with acknowledgment, focusing on each child's well-being, development and resources. Our shared goal is to create a safe and developing kindergarten life where all children feel seen, heard and included.

Everyday life in Svalehuset is characterized by presence, recognition and engaged adults who create safe frames and have an eye for each child's needs and perspectives. We prioritize following the children’s traces and supporting their curiosity, while organizing meaningful activities throughout the day that invite play and participation.

We work structurally and purposefully with a focus on the core task, where we create developmental moments and have time to stay in contact. Nature and the local area are a natural and integrated part of our everyday life, and we actively use the opportunities around us to create varied and sensory learning environments.

In Svalehuset we are committed to everyday life that includes both predictability and flexibility – with room for immersion, community and the small moments where development and well-being arise in the interaction between children and adults.

What role will you have with us?

You will share responsibility for the pedagogical practice in everyday life, where you are active and co-responsible for the framework and content in group time. You will actively participate in open- and closing-shifts. You will participate in group meetings, where you together with your colleagues plan initiatives in the group that support the children's community and each child's well-being and development opportunities.

You will participate in local staff meetings in Svalehuset and in the joint staff meetings in Dagtilbuddet Vest. In the local staff meetings, preparation time is allocated for work with the strengthened pedagogical curriculum, such as the preparation of a SMITTE model, evaluation of initiatives, and documentation work. We have each year two pedagogical evenings with specially selected pedagogical topics, and a joint pedagogical day, in which you also participate.

In daily life you will contribute to communication with the parents via notices on Aula and by dialogue during drop-off and pick-up at the kindergarten. You will participate in parent meetings and events at the kindergarten – e.g. a summer party for all the kindergarten's children/families.

As a newly employed pedagogical assistant or teaching assistant you will receive thorough training and introduction to the tasks you will perform.

We have the following expectations of you as a pedagogical assistant or teaching assistant:

We are looking for a pedagogical assistant or teaching assistant who works and communicates from an appreciative approach and who takes responsibility for creating safe and positive relationships with each child. You actively contribute to an open and trusting parent collaboration, where the dialogue is characterized by respect and openness.

You work independently, are patient and able to take clear and appreciative leadership in both smaller and larger groups of children. At the same time you have the desire and ability to initiate activities for the children, both indoors and outdoors, and create inspiring learning and play environments.

We expect that you see the value in giving and receiving feedback as a natural part of the collaboration to ensure high quality for our core task. You are curious, explorative and have the courage to test new ideas in practice. In addition you contribute with humor, spontaneity and a positive energy that helps create a fun and meaningful everyday life.

Finally you are flexible and ready to adapt in relation to both working hours and tasks.
