Who we are – and who is our target group?

Tårnbygårdsskolen is the special school of Tårnby Municipality. Our students are characterized by complex issues, mainly neurologically based. In most cases, they are children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), ADHD or other pervasive developmental disorders.

We have two student groups at the school

• Track 1 for children with pervasive developmental disorders
• Track 2 for children with pervasive developmental disorders and with a more extensive support need.

We are seeking pedagogues for both Track 1 and Track 2. Please indicate in your application which track you are applying for.

The students may also have challenges to varying degrees related to sensory disturbances, demand-avoidant behavior, anxiety-related issues and cognitive difficulties.

The position is placed within the school's total opening hours from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You will have duties both during school hours and in the after-school program.

We work every day to create opportunities for participation, well-being and development for all students through clear structures, strong relationships and close interdisciplinary collaboration.

The pedagogical work takes its starting point in each child's needs and is planned according to special principles. We work, among other things, with Low Arousal and a TEACCH-inspired approach.

The goal of our work is to enhance the child's individual ability to achieve as many concrete competencies as possible and as much independence. This is done in close collaboration with the parents.

• can work independently, take initiative and at the same time utilize the team’s professional resources and perspectives.

It is an advantage if you have knowledge of autism pedagogy approaches and ADHD pedagogy, visualization or Low Arousal, but the most important is that you are curious, relation-strong and motivated to work with children and young people with special needs.

Salary and employment terms

The appointment is made in accordance with the applicable agreement with BUPL after negotiation.

The municipality's recruitment policy entails that references are obtained from previous and current workplaces upon hiring. If you have been employed by Tårnby Municipality, a reference will always be taken from here. In addition, a criminal record check and a children's background check must be presented upon hire. The employment will be conditional on these being satisfactory.
