Who we are – and who is our target group?

Tårnbygårdsskolen is the special school of Tårnby Municipality. Our students are characterized by complex issues that are primarily neurologically based. In most cases, they are children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), ADHD or other pervasive developmental disorders.

We have two student groups at the school

• Stream 1 for children with pervasive developmental disorders
• Stream 2 for children with pervasive developmental disorders and with a more extensive support need.

We are looking for pedagogues for both Stream 1 and Stream 2. Please therefore indicate in your application which stream you are applying for.

The students may also have challenges to varying degrees in relation to sensory disorders, demand-avoidant behavior, anxiety-related issues and cognitive difficulties.

The position is placed within the school's total opening hours from 6:30 to 16:30. You will have duties both during school hours and in the after-school program.

We work every day to create participation opportunities, well-being and development for all students through clear structures, strong relationships and close interdisciplinary collaboration.

The pedagogical work takes its starting point in the individual child's needs and is planned based on special principles. We work, among other things, with Low Arousal and a TEACCH-inspired approach.

The aim of our work is to promote the child's individual opportunity to achieve as many concrete competencies as possible and as much independence as possible. This takes place in close collaboration with the parents.

It is advantageous if you have knowledge of autism pedagogy approaches and ADHD pedagogy, visualization or Low Arousal, but the most important thing is that you are curious, strong in relationships and motivated to work with children and young people with special needs.

Salary and employment terms

Employment is conducted in accordance with the current collective agreement with BUPL after negotiation.

The municipality's employment policy entails that references from previous and current workplaces are obtained upon hire. If you have been employed by Tårnby Municipality, a reference from them will always be obtained. In addition, a criminal records check and a child clearance must be presented upon recruitment. The employment will be conditional on these being satisfactory.
