We are seeking a pulmonology specialist for Zealand University Hospital, Nykøbing Falster.

We are seeking a pulmonology specialist to Nykøbing F. Since the position is newly established, you have a good opportunity to influence content and work organization according to your wishes and after agreement with the chief physician.

We want to hire a physician who masters interdisciplinary collaboration and who can contribute to the development of the lung department. You must participate in the work with hospitalized patients with pulmonology problems as well as in the clinic for lung diseases.

If you have topics within the pulmonology field that you know especially well, we will support your opportunity to work with these areas, possibly in collaboration with SUH, Roskilde.

You must participate in supervision of younger doctors and advising doctors from other specialties.

Lung diseases, inpatient ward currently consists of 26 beds. The majority of admitted patients have pulmonology issues.

We also have patients with other internal medicine problems than lung disease. On the inpatient ward we treat with NIV (COPD exacerbation), High Flow, percutaneous CO2 measurement and place pleural drains.

Lung diseases, clinic during the week has about seven medical tracks. Here we diagnose and follow patients with e.g. COPD, asthma, undetermined dyspnea and cough.

We also perform the initial work-up of pulmonary fibrosis (ILS), just as we follow patients with sarcoidosis in a stable phase.

We diagnose and treat for tuberculosis.

We follow patients with nodulus control.

In the lung clinic we perform spirometry, body box testing, diffusion measurement, Mannitol test and Metacholine test.

We currently have about 45 patients on home NIV.

We have the opportunity to perform allergy vaccination (SLIT).

In the near future we plan to be able to perform sleep apnea testing on our own patients.

There are currently about 250 patients with home oxygen connected to the lung clinic. We have five respiratory nurses in the clinic.

General conditions

We currently have six specialists in pulmonology. In addition, we have two doctors in main residency in the common part and two doctors in main residency, which is five years.

Medical Diseases is part of the Sjællands University Hospital (SUH) at the Nykøbing F campus with its own acute function and outpatient function.

Medical Diseases in Nykøbing F. consists of four units: Lung diseases, Stomach, Liver and Intestinal diseases, Heart diseases and Geriatric diseases.

We expect, in connection with the health reform, to have closer collaboration with the hospitals in Roskilde and Køge.

Practical info

SUH, Nykøbing F. offers good conditions for commuters from Copenhagen and Køge, where free direct buses run in the morning and evening on all weekdays.

Starting salary for employees under collective agreement

The region is obliged to inform you about the starting salary for the position. You will be informed of base salary, centrally fixed allowances and pension under the relevant collective agreement.
