About the job

Would you like to be involved from the start in an exciting development of specialized-level rehabilitation? You will be part of a specialized and interdisciplinary team where professionalism, structure, and relationships go hand in hand.

You will primarily be attached to our children and youth area, where you participate in specialized rehabilitation pathways for children and young people. At the same time you will be part of a unit with a broad rehabilitation-disciplinary perspective that includes both children, young people and adults.

A workplace in exciting development

We are increasing with occupational therapists to permanent full-time positions in our specialized neurorehabilitation at Neurorehabilitation Midt. We are in the midst of a significant development, where the specialized area in connection with the Health Reform will be transferred from municipalities to the regions as of January 1, 2027.

From that date, the temporary rehabilitation places will change their name to Regionshospitalet Hammel Neurocenter, 24-hour rehabilitation, Hammel, and thus become part of West Denmark's highly specialized hospital in the field of neurorehabilitation. There will be a focus on developing offers in round-the-clock and day rehabilitation, which can take place in the citizen's own home.

This means that you will become part of an organization in change with a real opportunity to make your professional mark, contribute to the development of specialized neurorehabilitation, and be part of an important journey for both citizens, employees, and partners.

Who are we?

We work with citizens after completed hospital stay, where the length of the rehabilitation program depends on the individual's development potential. Typically a program lasts around three months.

In neurorehabilitation, we work purposefully to ensure that the individual citizen becomes an active participant in their future life based on their own resources, wishes and needs, and always in close collaboration with relatives.

As part of the planned expansion of our services and an increase in the number of places, we are seeking new colleagues for an already well-functioning and experienced staff group. You will be part of a dynamic, engaged and interdisciplinary team consisting of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, nurses, social and healthcare assistants, neuropsychologist, speech therapist and senior physician.

We work with individualized rehabilitation plans at a specialized level and have a strong focus on supporting citizens to become active participants in their own lives. As part of Tagdækkervej and Regionshospitalet Hammel Neurocenter, we operate from a combination of strong mono-disciplinary focus and close interdisciplinary collaboration, where there is a short path from daily clinical practice to decisions.

Your duties

As an occupational therapist you will conduct assessment and rehabilitation of citizens with acquired brain injury, which can have both physical and cognitive consequences. You will have a central role in the interdisciplinary and cross-sector collaboration.

Your tasks will include

  • Assessment and rehabilitation of citizens with acquired brain injury based on individual rehabilitation plans.
  • Application and adjustment of neuro-pedagogical strategies as a natural and integrated part of daily work.
  • Close collaboration with citizens and relatives throughout the rehabilitation process.
  • Interdisciplinary and cross-sector collaboration for a good and coherent citizen journey.

About you

We are seeking occupational therapists who

  • Are professionally engaged, curious and want to work with people with acquired brain injury and complex issues in a rehabilitative everyday life.
  • Are interested in, and preferably have experience with, neurorehabilitation and complex pathways for children and young people. However you should also expect to work with adult citizens during periods when there are fewer children and youths in rehabilitation pathways.
  • See neuro-pedagogical strategies as a natural part of the task.
  • Have good collaboration skills, thrive in teamwork, seek sparring and value interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Are proactive and able to independently plan and prioritize your own tasks.
  • Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing and thrive in collaboration with citizens and relatives.
  • Move effortlessly between mono-disciplinary and interdisciplinary tasks, even when everyday life requires quick shifts.
  • You actively contribute to a good working environment together with your interdisciplinary colleagues.

It is an advantage if you have a driver's license, but not a requirement, as rehabilitation for some citizens may also take place in the citizen's own home.

What can you expect?

With us you enter a workplace where professionalism and human closeness go hand in hand. We offer:

  • Close interdisciplinary collaboration with the citizen at the center and the opportunity to closely follow citizens' development.
  • A thorough introductory program with professional guidance, supervision and competence development in relevant tasks.
  • A varied everyday life with professional challenges and focus on quality and evidence-based practice.
  • A good working environment with psychological safety, engaged colleagues, good humor and room for community.

Do you want to help set the standard for specialized neurorehabilitation? Then we look forward to hearing from you.

You will be part of a shift system, as the unit is staffed around the clock. The work includes day and evening shifts as well as weekend work. The exact scope of shifts and weekend duty will be arranged closer and planned in the duty roster.

If you want to know more, you are welcome to contact Birgitte Sommer, department manager, at phone 21 13 36 30 or via email at [email protected] .

Application deadline: October 17, 2026

Interviews will take place in week 43, 2026.

Start date: December 1, 2026.
