About the job

Are you a recent graduate looking for a safe framework to land in the profession? Or are you experienced and missing a specialty with high professional complexity and a strong collegial camaraderie?

At the Department of Infectious Diseases you will become part of an engaged and social staff group, where experience ranges from newly graduated to very experienced. With us you are never alone – neither professionally nor socially. Here high professional standards and good well-being are inseparably linked. Our mantra is that you cannot take care of others if you do not take care of yourself. We take care of each other, so we have the energy to provide our patients with the best care, and that is exactly the team we hope you want to become a part of.

We work within the framework Fundamentals of Care , where we create individual and dignified pathways. With us the patient is a collaborative partner, and we value both the specialized and the fundamental nursing care highly.

A everyday with professional breadth

You will encounter everything from common infectious diseases such as pneumonia, sepsis and erysipelas to the more rare and complex like spondylodiskitis, tropical diseases and meningitis. The work around the patients takes place in close multidisciplinary collaboration with doctors, social- and health care assistants as well as physiotherapists and occupational therapists.

We invest in your development

We prioritize your onboarding and well-being, and you can expect the following

  • Thorough start: 6-8 weeks outside the normal staffing with fixed mentor nurses.
  • Structured program: Planned follow-up conversations after 2 and 6 weeks as well as after 3 and 6 months.
  • Ongoing learning: We have "15 professional activities" every day, where relevant evidence-based knowledge and reflection are included and discussed in plenary. Doctors have fixed teaching days, we have simulation training as well as an annual theme day focusing on the infectious disease patient.
  • Competence development: We offer a wage-based competency program over 2 to 3 years, where your competence level increases continuously. We offer “On the Right Track” for newly graduated nurses within one year as well as “Infectious Medicine Specialist Course”.

About you

You are curious, good at collaborating and eager to develop within the infectious medicine specialty. You contribute positively to our social community, where we laugh together and pull together.

The good working life

We want harmony between private life and work. Therefore we use a wish-plan, where you have influence over your shifts. You are employed on the number of hours that best fits with about 4 to 8 shifts in 4 weeks. You choose yourself whether you want to work every 2nd or every 3rd weekend.

Would you like to feel the atmosphere?

You are very welcome to stop by for an informal chat and to see the unit.
