At Stjernehuset you meet children and families with different languages, cultures, experiences and life conditions. It creates a everyday life with great diversity – and an educational task that calls for professionalism, curiosity and strong relationships.

We believe that children do the best they can.

When a child has difficulty finding their way into play, when a transition is hard, or when a child again and again comes to the edge of the community, our first question is not: What is wrong with the child?

We ask instead: What is the child calling on from us – and what can we adults do differently?

It is this pedagogical curiosity that we would like to have more of at Stjernehuset.

Your most important tasks

Right now, we have a special opportunity.

Stjernehuset is not a house where everything is already as we want it.

We are in the process of strengthening our pedagogical practice and raising quality. Some things work well. Others we need to get better at together.

But something important has happened: We have received a completely new leadership that is passionate about staying close to the staff and the pedagogical practice and creating a direction for the house’s development.

At the same time there is great focus on the area, and extra resources are invested in the pedagogical quality. It gives us some opportunities that we intend to seize.

There will be investment so that we can succeed . In the coming period Stjernehuset will have the opportunity for a higher staffing level. At the same time, we have insertion pedagogues close to practice and access to a cross-disciplinary insertion team with different professional backgrounds. For us, extra resources are not just about more hands.

They should be felt by the children. As more presence, better possibilities for small groups, more calm around transitions, stronger participation opportunities and child communities – and adults who have better opportunity to be there where the children need them – and they should be felt by you as an educator.

Because when something is difficult, you should not face it alone. We should be able to explore it together, try something, learn from it and adjust our practice.

Your competencies

You don’t have to come and save Stjernehuset. But you are very welcome to want to help develop it.

We are not looking for a super educator who can come with all the answers.

We are looking for a skilled educator who wants to ask questions together with us.

An educator who becomes curious when a child does something we do not immediately understand.

Who can look behind a child’s actions and be concerned with what the child is trying to tell us.

Who believes that children should have the opportunity to experience themselves as meaningful participants in a community.

And who also dares to look at their own and the community’s practice and ask: Is there something we adults can do differently?

You will get with us

With us, professional development must take place close to the children.

We do not believe in development that only takes place in courses or in a meeting room.

Therefore we work on development very close to everyday life. Insertion pedagogues can work with you and your colleagues in practice, and through the cross-disciplinary insertion team we have access to several different professional perspectives. Not because others should come and tell us how to be educators. But because more perspectives can make us more skilled.

Who are we

You will also become part of something bigger. Stjernehuset is part of District Baltorp.

Here we are in the process of strengthening a professional community across our kindergartens, where we share knowledge, experiences and good solutions – and where help and sparring should not be far away.

We have a common ambition: To create early childhood services where children meet adults who take responsibility for their opportunities to thrive, develop and belong.

A little about Stjernehuset

Stjernehuset is centrally located in Ballerup, close to the station, and is a 0–6 years kindergarten with three nursery groups and four kindergarten groups.

We have modernized physical premises, a newer playground and direct access from the rooms to covered terraces, which provide good opportunities to connect indoor and outdoor life.

Stjernehuset is part of District Baltorp, which consists of seven kindergartens. This means you become part of the work community at Stjernehuset and of a larger professional community across the district.

In the district we pay attention to the fact that capable educators often become curious to improve themselves, which we think is an important part of an exciting working life and which we feel we have good opportunities to accommodate in the district.

Hiring process and salary

The start date is as soon as possible.

We will conduct interviews as applications come in.

The position is, as a rule, 37 hours and is a permanent position.

Application deadline: 1 November 2026.

We offer salary and employment terms according to the collective agreement for educators in municipalities and following principles of local pay formation and in agreement with the negotiating organisation.

Salary range for the position is 35,990 DKK – 43,193 DKK per month excluding pension (37 hours)

The salary depends on a negotiation between the manager and the professional organisation that has the right to negotiate for the applicable collective agreement.

The salary composition depends on your education, documented seniority and qualifications
