About the job
Organisational and Leadership Consultant for Aarhus University Hospital
Do you want to help develop leadership and organization at one of Denmark's largest and most complex hospitals? Do you have experience designing and facilitating practice-oriented leadership and organizational development – and an interest in executive recruitment and a desire to help develop our work in this area? Then you may be the person we are looking for.
About us
We are a small, but highly sought-after consulting unit in HR, working with leadership and organizational development across Aarhus University Hospital.
We advise and spar with managers and leadership teams at all levels and help the hospital's departments with both the ongoing leadership task and larger organizational changes. Our tasks range from developing leaders and leadership groups, executive recruitment and onboarding to organizational development, cross-department collaboration and larger development and implementation projects. We also arrange larger gatherings and seminars for the management circle and AUH's approximately 600 leaders and contribute to developing the hospital's shared leadership practice.
The health sector is undergoing significant change in these years. New tasks, changed collaborative interfaces and new ways of organizing work place high demands on both leaders and the organization. At AUH we therefore work with the development of new organizational and leadership forms, cross-department and cross-sector collaboration, and translating strategic ambitions into practice close to the core task.
Our common starting point is that our work should be perceivable in the organization. We care about everyday life in the departments we help, and we work closely with managers and employees on solutions that can function in practice.
We also place great emphasis on professional sparring, knowledge sharing and a good social work environment. We expect everyone to take responsibility that we as a team become better along the way – and we have a culture where there is room to try, learn and adjust.
Your role and your tasks
As an Organisational and Leadership Consultant at AUH you will have a broad portfolio of tasks and will work both independently and closely with colleagues.
Your tasks will include, among other things
- designing and delivering organizational and leadership development programs in close collaboration with managers and staff
- advising and sparring with managers and leadership groups at all levels in the organization
- working on recruitment of executives and leaders and contributing to professional and value-creating recruitment processes
- participating in further developing AUH's approach to executive recruitment – e.g. our methods, processes and how we advise managers and selection committees
- facilitating the development of leadership groups and cross-department and cross-discipline collaboration
- supporting the development of new organizational, collaboration and leadership forms
- contributing to larger strategic development and implementation processes
- planning and delivering larger leadership events, seminars and other joint activities for AUH's leaders
Executive recruitment is a core task in the team. You do not necessarily need to be a specialist in the area today, but we expect you to want to work with recruiting leaders and executives and to be curious about how we can develop the area further. If you already have experience with leadership or executive recruitment, that is naturally an advantage.
Your profile
We expect that you
- have a relevant academic background and expertise in consultancy, leadership, organization or change processes
- have experience with leadership and organizational development, ideally from a larger and more complex organization or from the consultancy sector
- are a good facilitator, can build trusting relationships and at the same time challenge leaders and the organization in a constructive way
- have an interest in executive recruitment and a desire to both solve concrete recruitment tasks and develop our practice in the area
- thrive in a daily life where tasks vary and you drive several concurrent tasks while maintaining an overview – even when priorities shift
- work in a structured way with attention to both the whole and details, are curious and learning-oriented and have courage to try new approaches
With us you will get
- the opportunity to work with some of the most interesting and complex leadership and organizational challenges in the public sector
- great variety in tasks – from concrete sparring with a leader or leadership group to development processes across the entire hospital
- the possibility to take a central role in work with and development of executive recruitment at AUH
- a strong professional and collegial community with a high degree of sparring and knowledge sharing
- significant freedom and flexibility in planning both working hours and task solving
- the opportunity to continuously develop your consultancy expertise
- the possibility to contribute to the development of the healthcare system of the future.
