At Ballerup Libraries we work according to an ambitious strategy, where we want to be even more present, current and relevant for the municipality's citizens. We especially want to reach new library users and the many new residents who move to the municipality in these years.

Therefore we are seeking a communications officer who can drive, coordinate and develop the library's communications efforts. We are looking for a creative and innovative storyteller who can translate our many offers, activities and communities into stories that engage citizens and create a desire to participate.

About the position

As a communications officer you should be able to tell the story of why and how the library is relevant for Ballerup's residents. You must ensure that we are visible where citizens are - both physically and digitally. You can connect our many different offers to citizens' interests and needs.

You should be both strategic and hands-on. You should produce content yourself and ensure that our communication hangs together across channels and target groups - and at the same time help and spar with your colleagues.

We believe that communication is something the entire organization contributes to. Your task is therefore not to solve all communication yourself, but also to create direction, frameworks and quality, so that we together succeed in reaching the citizens. It also means that you have an eye for how we prioritize and use our resources as best as possible, what your colleagues can contribute with, and when we should use which channels and which formats.

As a communications officer you should be proactive both within the organization and in the entire municipality. You thrive in a daily life with many different tasks and collaboration interfaces.

Your primary tasks, in addition

• Develop, drive and coordinate Ballerup Library's overall communications efforts.
• Attract new users through targeted communication in Danish and English.
• Create strong stories about the library's offerings and significance.
• Develop content for the website, newsletters and social media.
• Strengthen communities and dialogue via social media.
• Advise colleagues on messages, audiences and channel choice.
• Analyze and optimize communications efforts based on data and user insights.
• Standardize communication processes and make the best use of resources.
• Have overall responsibility for editorial and information architecture on bib.ballerup.dk.

• Have a relevant communications education and experience from a similar role.
• Have strong competencies in strategic and channel-tailored communication.
• Are a skilled storyteller who creates engaging content for different audiences.
• Follow societal trends, current agendas and new forms of communication.
• See opportunities in data, digital tools and AI - and translate them into practice.
• Have experience using usage statistics and naturally use data to improve or change the communication effort.
• Have a secure visual sense and a knack for targeted communication.
• Are a capable planner and coordinator, so there is order in the fixed tasks and room for the current and spontaneous.
• Are proactive, outreach-focused and good at creating forward momentum.

Hiring process and salary

In your application we would like you to unfold how you would concretely approach the tasks.

Starting date: 1 January 2027

We offer salary and employment terms according to the agreement for academics in municipalities.

Employment is based on principles of local pay-setting and after agreement with the negotiating organization.

The salary range for the position as an academic is 40,251.78 DKK – 54,053.33 DKK per month excluding pension for full-time employment (37 hours per week).

The final salary is determined after negotiation between the employer and the trade organization with negotiating rights in the relevant collective bargaining area. The salary depends, among other things, on your education, documented seniority and qualifications.

Upon hire we will obtain a children's certificate.
