About the job
Do you want to contribute to legal, safe and responsible research?
Faculty of Arts, Aarhus University, is seeking colleagues for the newly established unit Arts Research Support
Arts Research Support is a unit intended to support the faculty's researchers and the institutes' research consultants with tasks in law, research data management and cross-organisational collaboration. We therefore already expect the portfolio of tasks to comprise three main areas:
- Legal support (including GDPR)
- Support for data management and information security
- Coordination between the university's other actors in the research area
As an employee of Arts Research Support you will thus help researchers and research consultants with administrative tasks that are in demand in connection with the research assignment.
Arts Research Support is developed in close collaboration with the faculty's institutes and their research consultants, and the precise task portfolio for the unit is determined progressively towards spring. You will therefore have the opportunity, together with the team, to define and shape the tasks the unit should solve going forward – with due regard to the demand from the institutes' research environments.
Who are you?
We expect to hire 2-3 colleagues to supplement the four employees who are already part of the unit. It is therefore not essential exactly which background you have, but we are looking for colleagues with experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Knowledge of copyright, collaboration agreements, administrative law and GDPR
- Familiarity with data management and data management plans in relation to the research task
- Knowledge of collection, processing, analysis, sharing and storage of research data
- Knowledge of research strategic analyses and development tasks
- Basic knowledge of the financial aspects of research grants and research projects, including knowledge of the funding landscape
- Experience in secretariating committees and decision-making bodies
It is therefore important that you describe in your application which competences and experiences you have, so that we can assemble a team that can cover what we expect researchers and research advisors will demand.
Furthermore we expect that you
- Have a relevant academic background
- Are curious, approachable and service-oriented
- Can communicate complex topics clearly to different audiences, both in writing and verbally, in Danish and English
- Thrive in close collaboration with researchers and research environments
- Have experience in guiding and preferably giving presentations
We wish to fill at least one of the positions with legal competencies, e.g. cand. jur. or similar.
Who we are and what we offer
You will become part of a team with an informal tone and room to grow, where collaboration, knowledge sharing and professional sparring are a natural part of task solving. We place a strong emphasis on good social community and prioritize creating frameworks for well-being and collegial solidarity. Therefore we are happy to gather for morning bread, joint events or other social activities, both with the nearest colleagues and with other colleagues in the administration center.
In addition we offer
- The opportunity to help develop a newly started department, which is an important investment for the faculty
- A central role in the Faculty of Arts’ support for the faculty's research environments
- Good opportunities for professional and personal development within the entire field and in collaboration with the rest of the administration center and the faculty, as well as the opportunity to help create a strong collegial community in a completely new team
- Participation in Aarhus University’s other cross-cutting research organization – see e.g. here https://medarbejdere.au.dk/administration/administration/au-forskning
The unit is part of Administration Center Arts.
