3 pedagogues sought for the Special Education track, which is part of the Holistic Initiative at the Center for Children and Youth in Næstved Municipality

We are experiencing growth and therefore need more good people. We are looking for 3 family counselors/contacts who are passionate about working with families, with children and young people with special needs, and who want to become part of an organization that is full of professionalism and good at finding solutions.

The Special Education track offers a wide range of specialized services for children and young people aged 0–18 with disabilities/diagnoses/special needs and their families.

The core task of the Special Education track is, through a professional and systematic approach in working with children and young people and their families, to support well-being and development with the aim of providing opportunities for a good, active and meaningful adult life.

The offer of family guidance from the Special Education Track is aimed at families with children and young people aged 0-18 years. A significant portion of the families typically have gifted children and young people with diagnoses within the autism spectrum and/or ADHD, as well as comorbidities and other difficulties such as stress, anxiety, OCD, depression and eating disorders.

In addition, we undertake tasks with families of children and young people with physical and/or cognitive disabilities. We continuously want to strengthen our professional competencies in these areas and therefore seek a colleague who has experience with and an interest in working with children and young people with OCD, eating disorders and/or physical disabilities as well as their families. We place emphasis on your willingness to contribute with your professional knowledge and to engage in multidisciplinary collaboration with a focus on supporting and guiding the families in their everyday lives.

We address both preventive and longer-term interventions under the Child Act. Our programs are individually tailored to each family and we are good at thinking in creative solutions.

We make an effort to meet all children, young people and parents openly and without prejudice.

Our approach is built on trust and a good relationship that is the cornerstone of the collaboration.

You will be attached to a team of 12 other pedagogues and will also have a multidisciplinary collaboration with authorities, psychiatry, schools and other relevant partners.

All employees are part of the Integrated Effort which consists of the Special Education Track, the Family Track and the Youth Track.

We expect that you

• are educated as a pedagogue with special education experience
• are professionally sound, preferably with knowledge and practical experience regarding eating disorders, OCD and knowledge of working with physically handicapped people, as well as familiarity with autism and ADHD
• have experience working with tailored individual structures, preparation and visualization
• have experience collaborating with and guiding families with children and young people with special needs
• are curious, listening, and meet the children/young people and parents with the starting point that families are experts in their own lives
• are good at communicating both verbally and in writing
• are calm and clear in your personal presence and able to build good relationships
• are interested in and capable of working across disciplines with other professional groups e.g. authorities, schools, day care and psychiatry
• are actively participating in supervision and professional sparring
• are willing to upskill yourself both professionally and personally

To be considered as a qualified applicant for the position of family counselor/contact person, you must have a driving license and be able to provide your own car.

Relevant educational certificates must be attached.

Salary and employment terms are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between KL and BUPL and a pre-agreement.
