About the job

Do you want to work with accounting – and at the same time help digitalize and improve how we work with finances? Do you thrive at the intersection of accounting operations, technology and development? Then you might be our new colleague.

About us

You will become part of the Accounting Center under Corporate Accounting at the University of Copenhagen. We handle accounting tasks for the whole university – from administration to institutes and faculties.

We are about 85 colleagues in Corporate Accounting, of which about 45 work in the accounting center with close contact to users. We have an informal culture, help each other and are based in central Copenhagen.

About the role

You will get a role where you work with daily operations and contribute to developing and digitizing our accounting processes.

We are in full swing optimizing and modernizing the accounting area – and here you will be an important part of the work. You will work hands-on with operations while also participating in projects where we rethink and improve our processes and systems. How your contribution is distributed between operations and projects will vary over time.

We believe that the best solutions are created by those who know everyday life – therefore we combine operations and development.

Your tasks

Operations (hands-on accounting)

  • Handling and allocation of invoices in SDI
  • Control of travel reimbursements
  • Creation of sales invoices
  • Support to colleagues and users (English and Danish)
  • Processing of postings/reclassifications

Development and digitization

  • Participate in projects where we optimize and automate workflows
  • Contribute to developing smarter and more efficient financial processes
  • Work with quality, data and improvements
  • Develop video tutorials to supplement the written ones
  • Find and drive ideas on how we can do things better

Who are you?

You don’t need to know it all from the start – but we assume that you

  • Have a relevant financial education (e.g. financial economist or similar)
  • Have some accounting experience – or are a recent graduate with the right motivation
  • Are curious about systems, data and digital solutions
  • Are structured and have a good eye for detail
  • Have good Excel skills (or a desire to become really good)
  • Can communicate clearly in writing and orally in both Danish and English

And most importantly

  • You are not afraid to speak up and engage in dialogue with others
  • You take responsibility and can work independently
  • You want to influence and develop the way we work
  • You thrive on cross-collaboration and can communicate effortlessly with both managers and staff

Extra plus (but not required)

Familiarity with systems such as RejsUd, SDI, Navision Stat or LDV.

Experience with process improvements, automation or digitization.

What do you get with us?

You get a role where you work with both operations and development, and where you can influence digital solutions and workflows. You will become part of a strong professional environment with good colleagues, and where there is focus on your development and on new competencies.
