About the job

At Surgical Ward 2 we are looking for a full-time nurse in mixed shifts with weekend duty every 3rd weekend. We are looking for both you who are newly trained, and you who have experience from the surgical or another clinical area.

Welcome to Kir2 Kirurgisk Sengeafsnit 2 is an acute surgical ward with 20 beds and patients around the clock. We have about 4,500 admissions a year, and patient pathways range from short hospitalizations to complex acute surgical courses, where close clinical observation, monitoring, assessment, and fast action are needed.

We work, among other things, with patients in OMEGA pathways (Optimizing Major Emergency General Abdominal Surgery) and STEP-UP patients, where monitoring, clinical judgment and timely reaction are central parts of the nursing care.

We work closely with doctors and other professional groups on the patient's journey, and we emphasize high professional quality, person-centered practice, development and research.

Your professionalism. Your career path. We do not believe that all nurses should follow the same path.

At Kir2 you will have the opportunity to build a solid clinical foundation and develop your competencies within acute and surgical nursing. At the same time, we want to give you the opportunity to explore your professional interests and shape your own future.

We work with your individual career path, because your ambitions and interests may differ from your colleagues'.

Maybe you want to deepen your knowledge of surgical nursing. Maybe you are curious about a specialization in intensive care or anesthesia. Maybe you have not yet decided which direction you want to take.

Kir2 can be a place where you gain experience, develop your competencies and become wiser about your possibilities.

We would like to support your development, both if you want to become more proficient within surgery, and if you eventually want to pursue another professional path.

A good start and a good professional community When you start with us, you will have a fixed introduction program and be assigned a mentor who will follow you through the first period.

You will become part of a community where we help each other, brainstorm about the patients and use each other’s experiences. We have a fast pace, but also a daily life where there is room for questions, learning and a good collegial community.

You will have a daily life where patients, tasks and complexity vary, and where you continuously develop your clinical competencies.

With us you will have the opportunity to

  • develop your competencies within surgical nursing
  • work closely with doctors and other professional groups
  • have a fixed mentor and a structured introduction
  • influence your own duty roster and have the opportunity to express your preferences
  • develop professionally in the direction that suits your interests and ambitions
  • have the opportunity to continue working with clinical development areas
  • be part of a professionally strong and collegial working community.

Who are you? We imagine that you

  • are a trained nurse – newly graduated or experienced
  • want to work with acute surgical patient pathways
  • are curious about your own professional development
  • enjoy a daily life where patients' needs and complexity vary
  • contribute actively to the collegial community
  • want to learn and share your knowledge with others
  • can work independently and at the same time see the value of close multidisciplinary collaboration.

The most important thing for us is not that you can do everything from the start. It is that you want to learn, develop, and be part of Kir2.

We offer

  • a permanent full-time position
  • mixed shifts with weekend duty every 3rd weekend
  • possibility to influence your own duty roster
  • a structured introduction and a fixed mentor
  • good opportunities for professional and personal development
  • a varied clinical daily life with acute surgical patient pathways
  • a strong professional collegial community
  • opportunity to shape your own career path.
