About the job
Would you like to contribute to supporting a very important task in the health service with great significance for patients? Are you a skilled administrative employee with experience from the health sector, who can ensure that the committee members are supported with good service and high quality, delivered on time? Then you may be the new employee we are looking for in the Pharmaceutical Team in the Region of Southern Denmark.
The Medicines Council issues recommendations on the use of expensive hospital medicines in Denmark. Sometimes, however, a patient may benefit from a medicine that is not recommended by the Medicines Council. In these cases, the treating department can submit an application to the Regional Joint Committee for assessment of individual applications, which after thorough evaluation provides a recommendation on whether the medicine should be used for the patient.
The Parliament, in connection with Cancer Plan V, has decided that regional handling of these applications should henceforth be standardized and processed centrally in one national committee. As of 1 September 2026, the regions therefore established the Regional Joint Committee for Assessment of Individual Applications. The committee consists of medical directors from all regions and is supported by the pharmacological departments in all regions. The committee generally meets twice a week.
The secretariat support for the national committee is provided from the Region of Southern Denmark. We are now seeking a skilled administrative employee to join the secretariat.
Your tasks As secretary for the committee you will handle a large part of the administration and coordination surrounding the committee, e.g.:
- Receive and confirm incoming applications
- Create cases and journalise documents
- Maintain overview of the current cases in the committee
- Collect and release agendas and minutes in the agenda system
- Arrange meetings and send calendar invitations
- Prepare meeting plans and coordinate attendance for the 16 medical directors who participate in the committee
- Handle practical questions regarding the committee’s work
About you
We imagine that you
- Have an administrative background and very relevant insight into or experience from the health service. For example, pharmaconomist, health administrative coordinator/medical secretary, administrative bachelor or office-trained with knowledge of the health service.
- Are good at expressing yourself in writing and speaking
- Are structured and good at maintaining an overview
- Have experience with coordination and planning
- Are service-minded and have a sense of quality
- Must be able to handle tasks that often have short deadlines.
- Must be good at teamwork – with the committee members, the other regions, pharmacologists and with your colleagues.
About us You will work closely with the other employee in the secretariat as well as the secretary for the Cross-Regional Forum for Coordination of Medicines. You will be part of the Pharmaceutical Team in the Practice Department in the Region of Southern Denmark.
The Pharmaceutical Team currently consists of a total of three pharmacists and two candidates in either public health science or health science. There is also a medical consultant and an economist attached to the team. At times we also have a resident physician in pharmacology. The Pharmaceutical Team handles advisory tasks to the general practice sector on rational use of medicines, collaborates with pharmacists and also handles several national tasks regarding expensive hospital medicines. The team also works with Pharmacology at OUH Odense University Hospital.
You will become part of the Practice Department, which works with operations, planning, quality, and development within the health service’s practice area. We handle tasks related to general practitioners, practicing specialists, physiotherapists, psychologists, chiropractors, dentists, podiatrists, and pharmacists. In short, we support the work to ensure a well-functioning practice sector, where citizens experience a close and accessible health service.
In the Practice Department we are about 70 employees with very different backgrounds. We have an informal tone and a work environment where collegial support and sparring are central. We value collaboration and joint effort as the basis for our good results. Social activities strengthen relationships and contribute to a positive work environment. There is a possibility of up to 2 days of remote work per week when you are well into your tasks, which provides extra flexibility in your daily life.
