Are you dreaming of becoming a department head with your feet firmly planted in the pedagogical environment?

Then we can offer you a 37-hour position as head of department from December 1, 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Your working hours will be distributed between head of department time and child time in the kindergarten.

Who are we

Børnehuset Ryet is an integrated institution in Værløse with room for 24 infants and 50 kindergarten children. We have 2 baby groups and 2 kindergarten groups.

Our house is unique with plenty of space both indoors and outdoors.

We are 16 employees ranging in age from young to older, with both newly hired staff and others who have been in the house for several years. We are committed to creating a rich and developmental child life, and teamwork is an important part of this. We do not expect to be able to do everything the same, but to be passionate about what we can do together.

The day-care manager is your nearest supervisor. In cooperation with the day-care manager, you as head of department will share responsibility for the professional development, the development of the quality of the pedagogical work, and for supporting cohesion in the day-care.

You will share responsibility for ensuring that Børnehuset Ryet functions in daily life. You will particularly need to work with the organization of the pedagogical learning environments, the strengthened pedagogical curriculum, as well as follow-up, sparring and feedback on staff's pedagogical practice. You will also participate in the pedagogical work with the children.

• You can, in collaboration with the day-care manager and the staff, organize, develop and follow up on the pedagogical work, which means you have a good overview
• You can be a pedagogical role model and actively appear as part of the leadership of the pedagogical work in the day-care
• You are an empathetic, reflective practitioner who sets high standards for pedagogical quality
• You present yourself clearly, are decisive and can make decisions
• You can handle chaos and maintain calm in pressured situations
• You are positive, affirming and motivating
• You can guide and provide sparring in the pedagogical practice
• You participate as meeting chair in pedagogical discussions in the individual teams, and follow up to ensure that pedagogical reflection is translated into development of practice
• You actively seek unresolved problems and contribute to quick clarifications
• You are a team player who, together with the day-care manager and staff, has ambitions to develop a high professional level
• You also have the opportunity to work with administrative tasks such as:
• Scheduling in Kalenda
• Coordination, invitation and participation in regular meetings with PPR and schools
• Solving practical work tasks, e.g., contact with craftsmen
• Updates on AULA
• Work with assessments and follow-up in Hjernen & Hjertet
• You must be a substitute in the leader's absence

Ryet is part of a time-limited solution, where the current day-care leader has the managerial tasks in both Børnehuset Ryet and Kirke Værløse together with department heads in both kindergartens. This leadership structure is scheduled for spring 2029, when the two kindergartens again must have a day-care leader in each house. The Head of Department position is therefore time-limited until the leadership position becomes available, and for 2 years from the date of hire.

The position as Head of Department can be seen as an important step in the managerial development and as a natural training ground towards a future leadership position. A development program where you acquire the necessary managerial competences and experiences, with a view to being able to assume a future leadership role. The role provides the opportunity to gain experience, strengthen leadership competences, and gradually assume greater leadership responsibility.

Interviews will be held Thursday 12 Nov.26 between 13.00 – 17.00 and a second interview will be held on 16 Nov between 14-16 .

In Furesø Municipality, salary and employment terms are according to the applicable collective agreement and based on the principles of New Pay.
