About the job

We are looking for new colleagues in one of the central ministries on Slotsholmen. Do you want to help drive and shape the government's development and reform policy in the public sector, and are you interested in the governance and development of municipalities and regions? Then a position in the Office for Economic Negotiations and Welfare Economic Analysis in the Ministry of Economy and the Interior might be for you.

About the position

We are seeking skilled generalists who are motivated by tasks with great importance for societal development and the organization of the public sector. In this position you will have the opportunity to develop yourself and your career in a ministry that plays a central role in advising and planning government work and the major welfare economics agendas.

As an employee in the Office for Economic Negotiations and Welfare Economic Analysis you will join the machinery for turning important political agendas into reality. The office is responsible, among other things, for preparing and conducting the economic negotiations with the Danish Municipalities Association (KL) and Danish Regions, as well as a coordinating role in policy and reform development in several of the major welfare areas in municipalities and regions. This takes place in close cooperation with other relevant ministries.

Your concrete range of tasks will be arranged in dialogue with you, with a view to your interests, competencies and experience. You will become part of a team that values strong professionalism, engagement, good humor and collaboration.

As a new employee in the office you will, among other things, be able to

  • play a central role in the preparation and conduct of the annual economic negotiations, which set the municipalities' and regions' total economy and central development tracks.
  • contribute to policy development and economic policy in welfare areas, including the social and health sectors.
  • assist with the preparation of analyses and decision papers on development, modernization and renewal of the public sector.
  • support ongoing government coordination and ministerial servicing in a centrally located ministry.
  • gain broad contact with internal and cross-ministerial colleagues with opportunities to build good relationships.

About us

We are a workplace with high professionalism, high commitment and room for new thinking. We place great emphasis on carrying out tasks as a team – especially when work sometimes takes place at a high tempo. Team spirit and collaboration with colleagues are a guiding value for us, and we place great importance on maintaining a learning culture where we challenge and help one another. You will become part of a office that consists of a head of office, nine academic staff and two students.

The Ministry of Economy and the Interior is a small department with about 130 employees, where we know each other and collaborate across the building and have a strong focus on well-being, community and development. We offer flexible working arrangements and understand that our employees have different needs for flexibility in daily life. Wednesday mornings there is communal singing for those who wish, and in addition we have an active staff association that contributes to the sense of community across the building.

About you

You have a relevant academic education (cand.polit., cand.oecon., cand.scient.pol. or similar). In addition, it is important for us that you:

  • are a team player, trustworthy and decent in your collaboration with others.
  • are academically and analytically strong and curious. We value the ability to see the big picture as well as to go into the details.
  • are ambitious, dedicated, proactive and thrive in a busy and varied daily life.
  • keep up with and understand socio-economic challenges, and you can identify possible solutions.
  • are eager to learn and develop yourself.

You can be a recent graduate or have some years of experience.

Employment terms

You will be employed under the state agreement for academics and will be placed as an executive officer (fuldmægtig) or consultant depending on your qualifications.

The positions are full-time with start date to be agreed. We prioritize finding the right candidates and are therefore flexible regarding the start date.
