About the job

The Danish Confederation of Trade Unions seeks an Analyst Consultant

Are you passionate about finding patterns in numbers, data and knowledge – and about translating analyses into insights that can be felt and used? Do you see trends where others see endless rows of numbers or piles of information? And can you find the sharp angle, choose the right format and frame the channel that brings the analyses to life?

We are looking for an analyst consultant who will help elevate the trade union movement’s data-driven analysis work, aimed at strengthening membership engagement and analyses that support FH’s political advocacy. You should be able to conduct solid analyses of, for example, member development and attrition and the population’s attitudes based on, among other things, register data and surveys. And you must have the ability to communicate the insights, disseminate them and put them to use where they can make a difference.

About the job

You will become part of FH’s Organising & Development team, where we work closely together to strengthen the trade union movement’s ability to organise, develop and create change. The team works with organising, analyses, organizational capacity building, major political and organizational events, youth work, local work and support for shop stewards.

You will analyse member development and member attrition and contribute with knowledge about what strengthens membership engagement. This happens in close collaboration with colleagues on the team and FH’s member organizations. In addition to the analysis task, you will also help drive and advance various projects.

At the same time, you will plan and conduct population measurements and analyses that support FH’s policy development, public affairs and communication. In close collaboration with colleagues across FH, you will analyse the attitudes and experiences of the population and employees and find the insights that can inform FH’s political proposals, strengthen our arguments and set agendas in the public debate. The role requires you to take independent responsibility and drive tasks forward – but you will be far from working alone.

You should want to work in a political world where agendas can shift quickly and where development cannot always be foreseen. This requires both an overview, adaptability and flexibility.

You will, among other things,

  • Analyse member development and member attrition and investigate patterns and differences across the trade union movement’s member groups.
  • Translate member analyses into knowledge that can be used to develop and target organising efforts in collaboration with FH’s member organizations.
  • Plan and conduct population measurements – from survey design and questionnaires to analysis and dissemination.
  • Translate population measurements into insights that strengthen FH’s policy development, public affairs and communication.
  • Contribute ideas for new analyses and surveys based on organizational needs and current political agendas.
  • Communicate results clearly and precisely with a view to the target audience, angle and format.
  • Participate in projects that develop, test and strengthen organising across FH’s member organizations.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues in FH and member organizations so analyses and projects are translated into a common direction and concrete action.

About you

We imagine that you

  • Have a master's degree within the breadth of the social sciences postgraduate programs.
  • Have experience in processing and analysing large datasets and finding patterns in development, movements and differences between groups.
  • Have experience with surveys and an understanding of question formulation, representativity and statistical uncertainty.
  • Have strong analytical skills, a curious approach to the world and a desire to communicate so others can see what is essential.
  • Are a strong communicator who can translate numbers and insights into oral presentations and contributions to memos, articles, infographics etc.
  • Are thorough, credible and take pride in delivering quality.
  • Appreciate collaboration and sparring and proactively contribute ideas and angles.
  • Are independent, structured and take responsibility for progress.
  • Are driven by the wish to make a difference for workers in Denmark.
  • Are curious about or have experience using AI tools in your work.
