Nordsjællands Aftenskole is seeking creative instructors

Are you skilled with your hands, your imagination or your expertise, that others could benefit from learning? And would you like to create inspiring teaching for curious adults?

Nordsjællands Aftenskole is looking for instructors within creative subjects. It could include:

• Sewing, embroidery, textile printing, plant dyeing and other textile subjects
• Needle felting, wet felting, tufting and macramé
• Leatherwork
• Furniture restoration and upholstery
• Basket weaving, reed weaving and work with other natural materials
• Floristry, wreath design, decoration, terrariums and plant art
• Linocut, screen printing and other graphic printing techniques
• Bookbinding, papermaking and other paper crafts
• Calligraphy, handwriting, illustration and urban sketching
• Photography, including mobile, portrait and nature photography
• Cyanotype, alternative photographic techniques, photo editing and creation of photo books
• Stop motion, short films and video production
• Glasswork, glass fusing and porcelain painting
• Creative use of AI and graphic design in Canva
• Light casting, soap making, natural cosmetics and perfume making
• Modern Christmas decorations and other seasonal decorations

We are also interested in other creative subjects, traditional crafts and new techniques that can inspire our students. If you have a good course idea, we would love to hear from you – even if your subject isn’t on the list.

We are also very open to your own ideas. Perhaps you work with an exciting field or a particular technique that deserves to be known by more people.

Who are you?

You have solid knowledge about your subject and a desire to share it with others. You don’t necessarily need many years of teaching experience, but it is important that you can convey it in a lively, patient and welcoming way.

You should be able to create a safe and inspiring teaching environment where there is room for both beginners and more experienced participants.

We also emphasize that you are responsible, well prepared and prepared to carry out the courses we have planned and announced together.

Courses can be single workshops, weekend courses or longer programs. Teaching takes place at various locations in Rudersdal, Hørsholm and Furesø municipalities.

Salary and employment terms

You will be employed as a hourly-paid instructor under the applicable rules for the folk high school adult education.

The current salary is 330.74 DKK per teaching lesson of 45 minutes . In addition, 12.5% holiday pay .

A teaching lesson is financially equivalent to 1.6 working hours. The salary therefore covers not only the 45 minutes of teaching but also:

• General planning and preparation
• Post-teaching follow-up
• Breaks during teaching
• Preparation of a short course or program description

As a rule, there is no separate pay for ordinary preparation.

The pay rate is centrally regulated and may therefore be changed in line with current rules in the field. You will receive a written agreement about the employment and the exact teaching program.
