About the job

We are seeking an internal auditor and quality officer who can join Helicopter Wing Karup's Logistics Quality Management (LQM) section.

About us

Helicopter Wing Karup carries out operations around the clock and the focal point of helicopter operations is HW Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO). LQM is CAMO’s quality function and we therefore work closely with the rest of CAMO as well as the Defence Maintenance Service to ensure the ongoing airworthiness of HW aircraft types.

About the role

As an employee in LQM you will be part of a small team that conducts audits and ensures compliance (conformity) between performed tasks and the underlying legislation and documentation. You will monitor daily work and contribute with improvement proposals and initiatives regarding the management of ongoing airworthiness.

In the position you will also be involved in preparing analyses of why any faults and discrepancies occur and how these can be addressed in the future.

In LQM we operate from a “no blame” philosophy. This means that we focus on finding the causes of any faults, not on blaming individuals for mistakes. It is essential that you can build good relationships with employees and colleagues in the organization so monitoring and audits can be conducted with respect and trust from the auditee’s side. Therefore there are requirements for integrity and empathy as well as social skills.

The Defence is still implementing Danish Military Airworthiness Requirements into existing policies, rules and processes. Therefore you in the position will contribute to the upcoming processes and the best practice that must be built and implemented at Helicopter Wing Karup.

About you

You must enjoy talking to people and be curious about causes and solutions. You should have experience from an aircraft maintenance environment or a CAMO, which will facilitate your access to the topics dealt with in daily work.

We are looking for an open and engaged person with a strong sense of curiosity.

  • You should enjoy looking for causes and be interested in finding solutions, even in complex systems and contexts.
  • You should dare to voice your opinion and viewpoints, and you must be ready to discuss solutions and methods until a decision is made.
  • You should be able to put yourself in others’ shoes, and objectively help assess risks and consequences and weigh them against operational needs.
  • It would be an advantage if you have experience with audit, quality management or similar.

In the quality section we are primarily advisers to the HW CAMO chief and the wing commander. You must therefore be able to accept that, although quality and safety have high priority, there may be other agendas in the organization beyond those we try to promote.

Part of the regulatory framework, processes and provisions are drafted in English. The common working language is Danish, but it will be necessary that you can read, write and formulate yourself in English. A solid basic knowledge of IT is a necessity and you will, in connection with an appointment, receive relevant courses in e.g. airworthiness, flight safety etc. Knowledge of, or perhaps even experience in SAP PM, will also be a good starting point.

We would like you to have training as an aircraft mechanic or to have worked with aircraft maintenance. Alternatively, applicants with a relevant vocational education, combined with relevant courses and training, could be considered. You will be hired as a case handler, as the tasks are administrative/office tasks.

Relevant professional education could be e.g. a machinist, electronic technician, mechanic or similar.

Terms of employment

You will be employed under the applicable collective agreement at all times.

Depending on your qualifications and competences, there is a possibility for negotiation of allowances. There is a employer-funded pension scheme attached to the position.

The workplace is at Karup Air Station.

As an employee within the Ministry of Defence area, you are subject to certain special terms. You must, among other things, be security cleared and maintain the security clearance throughout the entire employment period.

As an employee you are obliged to perform service outside the country’s borders, including at units in international operations with a view to participation in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peace-enforcing, humanitarian and other similar operations.

Contact and application

If you want to know more about the position, you are welcome to contact Major Niels Pedersen on telephone 4122 9928.

If you have questions about salary and employment terms, you are welcome to contact Personnel Command, HR consultant Birgit Jepsen on telephone 3266 5811.

The application deadline is 13 November 2026. Interviews are expected to be held shortly after the deadline. The position is to be filled as soon as possible.

You apply for the position via the link and we ask you to attach your application, CV and copies of your education certificates/apprenticeship. Please note that attachments must be added in PDF format.

In the Defence Ministry’s organization we believe that diversity optimizes task solving. Therefore we encourage all interested regardless of background to apply for the position.
