Awake night shift sought for the residential facility Æblehaven – Create a sense of security while the rest of the house sleeps

Are you a true night owl, a care assistant, sosu helper or assistant and are you passionate about creating a calm, safe and structured night for our residents? Then you may be the one we are looking for as our new awake night shift at Æblehaven.

Æblehaven is a specialized residential facility for adults who are blind or deaf-blind. The residents also have other complex disabilities such as mental and physical impairments, anxiety, agitation, dementia symptoms and other health-related issues. The workplace is located by Kolding Fjord, a 10-minute walk from the old Nursing Museum.

You will become part of a staff group, where the different professional groups consist of pedagogues, PAU, SSA, nurse and care assistants. In addition we also have pedagogue-students and a service group consisting of kitchen assistant, janitor and house assistant.

Get off to a good and safe start

There is an introduction program prepared, which includes a short intro day with e-learning videos, an intro day in the center. You will closely follow a colleague and be introduced to both tasks and residents.

There is a strong focus on high emotional demands and workload psychology, and from the start we provide strategies to handle everyday situations. The residents' daily condition can vary from day to day, so you must be able to navigate in a changing everyday and nights where the residents' daily form and energy level can change.

About the position

As awake night shift you report in when the calm settles over the house. Your primary task is to maintain a safe and stable atmosphere throughout the night.

Responsibilities

• Provide close, calm supervision of residents according to current plans.
• Support the residents for a good circadian rhythm, as well as help with toilet visits etc.
• Lighter practical tasks
• Written documentation to ensure an accurate handover in our Nexus system.

• multidisciplinary collaboration with among others internal SSA's, nurse, and external partners
• social events such as Christmas lunch and spontaneous events. In addition, we have resident-related events such as summer party, tartlet party, Æblefest and Big Christmas Eve.
