About the job

Do you translate ambitious climate goals into solutions that work in practice? Do you have an eye for the interplay between sustainability, public procurement, data and organizational processes? And can you create structure and progress across disciplines?

Then you may be our new Sustainability Consultant in Roskilde Municipality's Procurement Section.

From climate goals to procurement practice The municipality's purchases must to an even greater extent contribute to the green transition. Therefore we are looking for a consultant who can develop and implement category strategies and make sustainable choices easier in daily procurement practice.

You will play a central role at the intersection of climate, procurement, tendering, contracts, data and behavior. Together with colleagues and disciplines you shall translate strategic ambitions into concrete requirements, tools and workflows – and follow the initiatives through to completion.

The position is placed in the procurement section, where we work cross-functionally to ensure that the municipality's purchases and contracts support the organization's needs, political goals and applicable rules. We are in the process of a major development focusing on professionalization and a more systematic integration of sustainability.

Your tasks Among other things you shall

  • develop and implement category strategies for selected procurement areas as part of the municipality's Scope 3 effort
  • translate analyses and strategies into solutions that make it easier to make sustainable choices
  • plan and drive processes across disciplines and ensure progress, involvement and anchoring
  • advise tender consultants on sustainability requirements in procurement and bid invitations
  • participate in procurement processes where sustainability constitutes a large part of the procurement task
  • develop tools, workflows and data basis for prioritization and follow-up
  • follow up on sustainability requirements in procurement and contracts
  • participate in relevant working groups and professional networks, including POGI and FUS’ sustainability group.

The tasks range from strategic development and analysis to practical implementation. You must therefore be able to move confidently between different disciplines while keeping focus on concrete results.

Your profile Your educational background can be in project management, public procurement or sustainability, for example. The most important is that you combine subject knowledge with strong competencies in process, structure and implementation.

We attach importance to that you

  • have knowledge of sustainability, climate and green transition
  • have solid knowledge of and experience with public procurement and the framework that applies in the area
  • are strong in process and project management and can drive complex processes
  • create overview and translate goals into plans, deliveries and solutions
  • work analytically and use data for prioritization and follow-up
  • can bring together different disciplines and create engagement and ownership
  • communicate clearly and professionally – both in writing and verbally.

As a person you are structured, proactive and curious. You thrive with complex problems where the solution must be developed collectively, and you manage to keep direction, relationships and details together. You follow up and ensure that good intentions become lasting improvements.

We offer You get

  • a central role in Roskilde Municipality's work with sustainable procurement
  • opportunity to influence initiatives from analysis to implementation and follow-up
  • a professionally diverse daily life at the intersection of climate, procurement and organizational development
  • close collaboration with engaged colleagues and disciplines across the municipality
  • a working environment with focus on professional development, knowledge sharing and community.

Salary and employment terms The position is a 3-year fixed-term contract for 37 hours per week. Salary and other terms of employment are determined in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and the principles of local salary formation.

We would like the position to be filled on 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.

If you have any questions, you are welcome to contact the head of the procurement section Sandy Lykke Lützen at [email protected] or phone 30 84 10 40 .

The application deadline is 5 November 2026, and we expect to hold 1st interview on Friday 13 November 2026 and presumably 2nd interview Tuesday 24 November 2026.

A criminal record check and references will be obtained in connection with employment.

We look forward to receiving your application.
