About the job
We are seeking bioanalysts (37 hours/week), but if you have another health profession qualification and the right attitude, we are also ready to train you for selected tasks.
Do you want to help our patients on the right track with high professionalism and the latest automated equipment?
At the Clinical Biochemical Department in Hjørring we are 45 colleagues who need you in our team. We produce professionally sharp analysis results every day so our patients can continue their treatment. It is important to us to contribute to good patient pathways.
What your daily life will look like at our department
You will meet many inpatient and outpatient patients, where you will take blood samples and EKGs. Therefore, it is important that you enjoy and have a sense for patient contact. This also means that you will gain a large network across all clinical wards you visit.
You will analyse blood, urine and stool samples on our automated analysis equipment. We have Atellica equipment that analyses a large part of our biochemical and immunochemical analyses. For hematological samples we have Sysmex XR and for coagulation we have CS5100.
In addition to the more routine analyses, we also have specialized analyses. We have among other things extensive knowledge and expertise in drug and substance abuse analyses, which we perform for other hospitals in and outside the region.
We perform allergy analyses on Phadia ImmunoCAP equipment for the North Jutland Hospital Region and for the general practitioners in the whole North Jutland Region.
About half of our production are blood samples from general practitioners.
All 45 colleagues go on shifts. We have a 3-shift system with day, evening and night shifts. We are about 15 colleagues who handle the blood bank function and perform blood typing, BAC testing and Rotem and dispense various blood products.
As a on-call bioanalyst you will be trained in either chemistry and immunochemistry analyses or coagulation and hematology analyses. Which of the two is agreed when you start with us.
About you
We have the entire hospital as our workplace and therefore many different tasks, and we can get quite busy at times. Therefore, you must thrive in a busy and changing daily life.
You see patients as the central focus and you always go the extra mile to ensure patients have a positive experience and a smooth and efficient patient journey.
We are looking for colleagues who are responsible and quality-conscious, who have a high professional commitment and who thrive with the many different tasks we solve at the Clinical Biochemical Department.
And of course – like all workplaces – we expect you to be a positive and helpful colleague who contributes to our good working environment. We are indeed very fond of our work environment and protect it.
We can offer you
You get an independent and challenging job in a department with high activity. But we will of course ensure that you are thoroughly trained and that you feel secure in your tasks.
In general we highly value education, both yours and the students we have in the department.
We are known for having a high ceiling and for taking care of each other. This means, among other things, that we have short distances between management and staff, and we find it exciting to test new ideas from the staff.
It also means that we take care when making work and holiday plans, so they fit as well as possible with each individual's family/free time.
Who are we?
The Clinical Biochemical Department is ISO 15189 DANAK accredited. We have specialized in allergy, drug and medication analysis and have the regional function within colorectal cancer screening. Annually we issue around 7 million analysis results. The services are performed for the hospital's clinical departments and the region's general practitioners.
Practical
The positions are available to be filled by January 1, 2026 or by agreement.
Application deadline November 15, 2026, interviews in weeks 47 or 48, 2026
Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the collective agreement for non-management staff within the Health Cartel area concluded between DBIO and Danish Regions.
