About the job

As a freelance interpreter with International Tolkeservice ApS you will be part of our network of professional interpreters. You will have the opportunity to apply your language skills in practice and help people from different linguistic backgrounds communicate with public authorities.

The work is on a freelance basis with assignments as needed.

Your tasks

You will handle oral interpreting tasks between citizens and public institutions, including municipal departments and other authorities.

Interpreting tasks can take place as

• On-site interpreting
• Telephone interpreting
• Video interpreting

Some of the tasks will be located in Struer Municipality and surrounding areas.

• Master Danish and your interpreting language at a high spoken level.
• Can reproduce conversations accurately, neutrally and loyally.
• Have an understanding of Danish culture and society.
• Have knowledge of confidentiality and good interpreter ethics.
• Are responsible, flexible and reliable.
• Have good collaboration skills and a professional approach to the tasks.
• Can use computers, smartphones and digital platforms.

Experience in interpreting

It is an advantage if you have previously worked as an interpreter, but it is not a strict requirement. The most important are your language skills, your understanding of the interpreter’s role and your ability to convey information accurately and professionally.

Admission to our interpreter corps

To be attached to International Tolkeservice ApS you must undergo a linguistic and professional assessment. Here we look at, among other things, your Danish skills, your competencies in the relevant foreign language, as well as your understanding of the interpreter role, ethics and professional terminology.
