Middelfart Music School is seeking a piano teacher for a position of 40.5%-45% (15-16.60/37) with start date 1 January 2027.

We prioritise finding the right colleague over the right “percentage.” Therefore we are open to dialogue about both employment level, task portfolio and any possible combination appointments. The position can be shared between two teachers, so we would like to hear from both candidates seeking a smaller appointment and those seeking a larger one.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The interest in piano is high among the municipality's children and young people, and many start already in the early school years. You will therefore teach students at many different levels – from the first piano lessons to talent level.

The position includes, among other things

• Solo piano teaching from beginner to talent level
• Group teaching for beginners

The teaching mainly takes place on Mondays and Wednesdays in Middelfart and Strib. A driving licence and a car would therefore be an advantage.

The position does not include teaching of public school classes.

There are good opportunities to influence the content of the position. We value dialogue and want you to help develop both teaching offerings and tasks based on your competences and interests.

WE WANT TO FIND THE RIGHT COLLEAGUE

With the position come duties beyond direct teaching, including teacher council meetings, pedagogical days, concerts and other joint activities. For the right candidate we are open to dialogue about the scope of tasks to create flexibility and good framework for example combined appointments.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A TEACHER WHO

• Has relevant musical education, preferably conservatory education or equivalent
• Is passionate about teaching children and young people
• Can create safe and inspiring learning environments for both beginners and advanced students
• Masters a broad piano repertoire and can teach students with different musical interests and levels
• Is keen to engage in professional collaboration with colleagues
• Sees opportunities in both individual instruction and teaching in communities

We collaborate closely on projects, ensemble playing, talent work, concerts, musical productions and musical communities across subjects.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

• Start date 1 January 2027
• Salary and employment terms according to the applicable collective agreement
• Criminal record and child-safety check will be obtained upon appointment
• Evening and weekend work may be required in connection with events and concerts
• Two annual pedagogical days and seven teacher council meetings (Fridays)
• Compulsory tasks scheduled before the start of the norm period
